Hi, everyone. This is my first post so be gentle and use lubricant.

So to the point, I've recently bought a new bottle from mathmos for a crestworth lantern. Yippee.

Problem! I know the bottle design changed sometime in the last decade with the added lip to the base of the bottle which is great for the current line up but sucks for the old war horses.

Mathmos's reply was a bit rubbish with just square it up as best you can.

The obvious answer would be to put the liquid and wax from the new bottle into the old bottle, but to be honest I've never been a fan of tampering with the bottles.

My question is this how do you solve this problem.

I've looked into the vtie mouldable silicone rubber and I'm thinking of putting a few small blobs on the bottle which will set with the bottle out of the lamp but give more purchase and hopefully solve the nodding bottle problem.

Vtie is heatproof up to a point apparently.

Another option is to use some small pieces of rolled up baking foil.

I'll post my results if the house doesn't burn down.

So I'm offering a pair (only sold as a pair) of Crestworth Lantern lamps.

The lamps are in excellent condition (only one small ding at the back of one, so it's not noticeable in use).

The bottles are the original ones, but they need to be fixed.

Hi.

This is My first Post in the forum. Was always a bit scared to ask for help but now i have too many questions piling up.

I bought an Astro Mini a few years ago. It looks like an MK1 but has a mk2 lightswitch.

The liquid is a bit low and the wax melts but stays at the bottom. Both wax and liquid are orange in colour. Not sure if this is an original colour combination and if so is it worth saving?

The liquid looks clear but gets a bit cloudy when heated.

My thought was to slowly top it up with distilled water and see what happens but i wanted to ask first before ruining my bottle.

The seal in the lid (made of cork, cardboard, and aluminium foil i think) was damaged and i dont know how to replace it yet. Keeping the backelite lid would help keeping the copper cap in place.

The rubber grommet at the base allso broke apart, while i was changing to an e14 fitting. Had no sbc bulbs at the time. Does anyone know if these exact ones are still made? Couldn't find them on the internet.

Otherwise ill probbably just rewire the lamp completely.

Is the lamp supposed to run on a candle bulb just leaning on the inside wall loosely? Im concidering making a brass spacer to use round bulbs, without them making direct contact to the lamp base.

One last question. Compared to other copper things this lamp looks allmost golden. might be a clearcoat that went yellow over time. This is my only copper crestworth lamp so i dont know if this is normal.

If im asking too many questions just tell me, so i can make my future posts better.

Hi. Did anyone else catch this auction for the highly rare Crestworth glitter wall sconce. For most of the week it's been sitting on £210. With seconds to go, of course, the price went up by about £200 a second ending at an incredible £1001 sterling.

How much would you have bid for this complete rarity and highly sought after wall glitter lamp?
I think the layer of dirt and nicotine has helped to preserve it! They seem to be particularly rare compared to the Phantomlite and Galaxy fibre optics that Crestworth sold at the time. It looks quite similar to the Crestworth Aromalite. It also seems unusual that it’s copper; we can only find pictures of them in chrome.
Mk 0 Crestworth Astro?tag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2017-05-22:1566398:Topic:6519492017-05-22T03:41:05.707ZModulo '70https://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/JeromeDopson
Hi fellow gooers,

Did anyone else see the recent eBay auction for the really early copper Crestworth Astro? This example was exceptionally early and featured the Mk1 open two-piece base which was painited inside and the very earliest in-line switch. The odd thing apart from the completely ancient and shot original liquid was the very shallow copper cap, much more shallow than even the Mk 1 Astro. Any Crestworth experts on here know about this lamp. It went for a whopping £310 at the auction…

Did anyone here win it?
