I managed to import a Grande from Amazon US that thankfully arrived intact today (even though it was in its torn up box, with no outer protective box at all), but I am now realizing one key thing I had forgotten to look up: If there is a suitable bulb for this lamp for 230V outlets.

Currently, I'm considering whether PAR20 halogens on a dimmer would work alright for the Grande, but I can't ascertain whether they put out the heat too concentrated to the middle of the globe's bottom surface, which might cause hot spots and flow problems.

I have a question I'm hoping someone here can help me out with. I have all the LavaLite, Wizard glitter lamps and recently acquired a lot of lamps from a grandmother who used to work at Spencers. Within this lot is a very large base that reads Custom Base and top for Stardust or Aurora globes. The Seller handed me a box with a red glitter globe that we first assumed went with this base. I now know that the globes not meant for the base and appears to be a custom globe for the Wizard line.…

Here's my question - the glitter in the custom LavaLite globe is much bigger than the glitter in the Wizard Globes as in the custom glitter globes have 1/4 inch flakes shaped like an octagons versus the Wizard globes are tiny and square shaped. Doe's anyone have a clue what colors the custom globes came in? I have red and gold right now. I acquired the gold globe/ wizard base on Ebay years ago and thought it was a China knock off since the glitter flake size did not match that is until I recently acquired this latest red globe in box and the caps on both globes matched. Caps are not pop off like bottle cap tops their sealed permanently. I searched this site and found nothing about the two types of glitter globes sold by LavaLite. Anyone have additional info? Thank you.
Vintage LavaLite glitter globestag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2018-06-09:1566398:Topic:6778052018-06-09T15:50:12.346ZThe Lamp Caretakerhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/TheLampCaretaker

Here are a couple of photos from a recent project. I purchased 2 - 27'' Lava Lite tri colored glitter lamps. When they arrived I hated the the color scheme so I decide to shave the clear coat off. Here is the before and after photos of the lamps once both were shaved off. Hideous colors. Notice that I left some of the purple clear coat on the base. I did this because as I was shaving the lamps I noticed the purple made the glitter flakes turn prismatic like with multiple colors like a diamond so I left the bottom alone. When I was finished I sat back with a cold Stella Artois and admired my work and the new globes. Absolutely stunning! Sorry that I posted two sets here. I'm not sure what I did that one set came out here and the other on the side bar. Two sets are better than none right.
Over a year ago I purchased a bunch of rainbow gold glitter lamps from LavaLite when they went on sale for 15.00 each. I emptied two 27'' grande lave globes and refilled them using the liquid and glitter from the smaller 14'' rainbow glitter lamps. I now have a matching pair of 27'' rainbow glitter lamps with original Lava Lite liquid and glitter that are spectacular. I emptied two 27'' grande lave globes and refilled them using the liquid and glitter from the smaller 14'' rainbow glitter lamps. I now have a matching pair of 27'' rainbow glitter lamps with original Lava Lite liquid and glitter that are spectacular. I placed the globes on the 50th Anniversary gold bases and here is what the lamp looks like in my kitchen. They are now in my great room one on each side of my tv. If you want to see what they look next to the tv let me know and I'll gladly upload more photos. Photos make the lamp look very orangish but their actually more gold than orange. They look even better when dimmed a little. I placed several of the regular 14'' rainbow glitter lamps next to the 27'' for size comparison. I enjoy making my own custom lamps aside from just collecting. More designs to follow soon.
Lava Grande Spare Bottle / Globe For Saletag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2015-04-30:1566398:Topic:5785372015-04-30T16:16:38.366ZElectricMonkeyhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/ElectricMonkey

Hello People,

I'm still in the process of clearing out my office ready for moving in June/July and still have a few items which I will be listing on eBay at some point. The latest one is a brand new blue/yellow lava grande bottle / globe. It was part of a full lamp which turned out to have a damaged base so we kept hold of the bottle in case we needed it for display in future. I just don't have the space for it now as have had to downsize my business space.

I just don't have the space for it now as have had to downsize my business space.

I'm attaching a couple of photos - please excuse the messy bits of my office you can see in the background. I can post the item in it's original box which in the UK will be no more than £11-£12 - but I won't charge more than it costs. Price for the bottle itself is £30. As usual, shipping outside the UK will probably not be particularly cost effective but I am of course happy to get quotes if anyone would like me to.

Although the base of the lamp has a small dent, no bulb and so hasn't been tested, I can include in the box if the buyer wants it as it won't add to the cost of the shipping.

Any questions please feel free to message me.

I have had several people now tell me that judging by pictures it is definitely un-used, globe or base. Base is still wrapped in original plastic. I have two manuals with it. The box is in super good condition! I believe this is probably the only one like this in this condition I will ever see in my lifetime! I can't even imagine how rare it is to find these lamps from the 70s new and in such great shape.

Honestly I have absolutely no idea what this is worth, but I feel this is something truly rare and any collector would love it! I'd love to see it go to a good home.

My listing is here, feel free to check it out! If it has no bids on it, I would be more than willing (and happy) to sell it outside of eBay for the right price.

Really nice Capri Novelty GemLite, has mostly been stored away, very minimal signs of use .. Original box & paperwork included.. On occasion if you jiggle lamp- light will flicker on & off, but when left alone light works perfectly and glitter flows beautifully. I do not know how to open this up to check if bulb is tight or if its even possible to open.. Maybe someone can message me and let me know how to check :)
