Impressions, the lamps seem well made and initial flow is good. I don't see any problems here. The gold tone metal of the Mellow Yellow base is really nice, I want to say brighter than original lamp bases from back in the day but that's probably just because of it being fresh. The Ocean Floor is nice and I love ocean scenes but these wrapped bases are almost never aligned properly, but I do like the globe. The globe is dark, almomst too dark. The thing about it though is they say the wax/fluid combo is blue/blue but it looks like purple under a UV light, too bad that effect doesn't show up in pictures.
IO bottle on Lunar Basetag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2020-02-01:1566398:Topic:7065072020-02-01T23:20:04.105ZCritterhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/Somhtam

Lava Fans,

Last fall when Marcel bought a new Mathmos IO lamp to use with his glitter bottles he posted the Yellow/Orange lave bottle he chose for sale on the forum. I didn't pick up a IO (yet) but I was definitely interested in the new Yellow/Orange bottle Mathmos was making. So when Marcel said he was selling his new Y/O bottle I grabbed it up for my Lunar. I didn't pick up a IO (yet) but I was definitely interested in the new Yellow/Orange bottle Mathmos was making. So when Marcel said he was selling his new Y/O bottle I grabbed it up for my Lunar. I was not sure if the IO bottle contents would run well on the Lunar since they are using different light sources and perhaps a different formula, but I figured with all of my lamp experience I could make it work if it didn't.

Well, the bottle (and a few other goodies...more on those later) arrived from Marcel yesterday and I can happily report that the formula in the Y/O IO bottle runs in a spectacular fashion on the Lunar base! I fired it up this morning for its virgin run and it is magnificent!

Picked up the new colors from Spencer's last week and took pics of them right out of the box. I like the new graphics they have, they are slightly updated from the previous ones. They are trying, and obviously investing in a slight facelift and from the looks of it, the quality has slightly improved as well.

I was firstly surprised to see this "Pink and Yellow" combo as it looks like bubble gum pink flowing in lemonade, although out of the box it is red. Thought it would lighten with use after "breaking in". But still remained Red.

The purple white was mezmerizing to watch as it has a lavender color and looks like jellyfish floating around. Just didn't like that it overheated after several hours.

Pics here are from the first night...but they DO improve greatly after 1 week. See those pics to follow in the reply below...

Ok, here are some new ones I have been working on lately. From left to right we will call them numbers 1,2,3,4 and 5.

Number 1 is a custom Pink Base with a standard #14 Clear/Pink Globe
-It was extremely hard to find heat resistant paint in Hot Pink, but I finally came upon some, and attempted to make a better Pink than the factory Electric Pink. It came out darker, and in my opinion better, but still it is very close to the factory satandard Pink.

Number 2 is not special or custom, it is only placed here for comparison to Number 1- It is just a factory Electric Pink Base with a #04 Pink/White Globe.

Number 3 is The Baby Blue Lava that I made and mentioned before in another post, now however, I have made a matching base to go with it- A Baby Blue Base. I made this with heat resistant spray paint in "Pontiac Blue". This Lamp looks amazing and the pictures do not really do it justice.

Number 4 is a Standard #08 Clear/Yellow Globe on top of a Custom Painted "Gloss Yellow" Base- I thought that the factory Electric Yellow was not vibrant enough a Yellow for me so I made this one myself- again using heat resistant paint. It came out great.

Number 5 Is the standard factory Electric Yellow Base placed here to compare with the Number 4 custom Yellow. However, the globe is a Custom made with Yellow Liquid and White Lava. The Factory made White-lava globes came in all liquid colors (Blue, Orange, Pink, Red, Green, Purple) except Yellow for some reason- so of course I had to try it out myself. It is very similar looking to Clear/Yellow in the dark, but in a well lit room it does have a deeper Yellow Look. I love this one.

I tried to take a bunch of pictures with different lighting and angles so you can try to see them as closely to reality as possible. Even still they all look much better in person, but again I tried.
