Hi all, I have an opal fluidium lavalamp but the wax is messed up, one of the coils dislodged and some of the wax has now burnt to a brown colour and some of the wax is stuck at the top as a white haze. Does anyone know where I can get fresh white wax? I have opened the bottle before to change the clear fluid about 10 years ago so I am not bothered about getting the bottle open.

Hello,
I have an old Lava-Simplex LavaLite lamp that has been giving me problems since day one. The master fluid was cloudy when I got it and the wax had tons of tiny bubbles. I did the basic Epsom Salt and Dawn liquid replacement, and it worked beautifully...for about two weeks. I noticed the liquid had gotten cloudy again even though I hadn't done anything to the lamp other than run it almost every day for the recommended 8 hours. So I replaced the liquid again, and a few weeks later the lamp did the same thing. And again...I must've replaced the master fluid in this lamp at least 12 times and every time I do, the master fluid always ends up re-clouding after running it for about two weeks, even though the flow is still really good. The bubbles in the wax problem is also still there, I did try "stirring" the wax a little when it was solid before my most recent liquid change to get rid of the bubbles and to get the old fluid out of the wax, however the bubbles somehow returned. So am I doing something wrong? Is the wax dead? It's a really pretty lamp when it's flowing properly and the fluid is clear. I'm about ready to kit this lamp if I can't find a permanent solution to the eternal re-clouding. So ive mixed up a drop of wax , wich i made out of paraffin wax and brakeleen, with pure VG and water, when i added more vg to the water it clouded up after i shook it, is this the wax floating in the liquid? It has to be that its to dense or could there be salt left in the wax from the last liquid mixture i used. I used a hydrometer and the solutions around 1.075.
Anyways, my first (and only) lava lamp was a silver starship with blue fluid and yellow wax given to me for Christmas as a kid. I ran it every day and miss the calming glow so much. I couldn't bring it with me to college, and while I was away our house was foreclosed and my family packed my things. I have the globe and cap still, but somehow they lost or forgot the base. I love this model and can't justify spending 70-150 dollars on ebay for a full lamp (then I would still have an extra base and cap.) I have seen people selling bases here, and thought maybe someone might have an extra silver starship base they might sell me for cheaper than the full lamps are going for on ebay.

Thank you so much if you can help me out!

hey folks i need some help. i won a blue/yellow hot rock from '03 for $5 on ebay that i'd been watching for a while and in the pictures it looked really clear and like it didn't have any sticking wax. long story short, received it and it already had wax all stuck on the inside and then on the first run, it started riding the glass and a huge glob got stuck that i managed to shake off but it left a stain, big gross splatter, that won't come off. once shaking it off, it started flowing like a…

so here's the cap, idk what to do with this thing, and am wondering the best way to go about opening it. i've opened the bottle cap types before, but never encountered this one. i've got a husband who thinks he can do it, but i don't want it broken. i know some people have opened their hot rocks, so i'm wondering if anyone knows the best way how without destroying the bottle, i already know i'll probably have to cork it back up because the cap will be destroyed. i've also got a glitter hot rock that i'm dying to get into as well, to add some food coloring and it's got the same cap.

so yeah basically if anyone can help me that'd be great!

and here they are going together! i LOVE the design of these lamps! the glitter is fabulous, lacking color but pretty dang cool. the lava would be so cool if it just didn't have issues. i'm also probably gonna paint the green one's base black!
Green LavaLite lamp, wax doesn't stick to coil or move at all.tag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2015-02-14:1566398:Topic:5710832015-02-14T20:25:53.201ZBSP016https://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/Ben233
I bought a green LavaLite today, and it has issues. First of all, the wax doesn't stick to the coil like it should
It doesn't move either, and there is some wax at the top that won't come down. What's the issue here? I'd like to get this lamp working because I want to give it to my mom. Any suggestions?

I've been anticipating the purchase of my grande neon pink heritage amp for sometime and finally bought it as my bday present to me ;D
I would like to call on your awesomeness to help me out as I have a few smaller problems.
Firstly there was no light bulb included. It says 100W is included in product description as well as marked on the box. I am SOOO SAD I can't just plug and play. Is the Internet the best place to get a bulb??! I'm in Canada so would love to go pick one up at the hardware…

Is the Internet the best place to get a bulb??! I'm in Canada so would love to go pick one up at the hardware store. But not before checking with the experts. This lamp is my baby if something was to happen not sure what I'd do!!!

The last of the weirdness is the hat doesn't sit very snug at all not like my other lava lamp products which fit so nicely to hide the water line. Would it be possible to one day add a little more liquid. I can want perfection a little too much but if its possible then one day I will. ;D

Thank you so much for any help I think this site is the MOST AMAZING COLLECTION OF AWESOME the Internet has!!
Sharing is caring :)
