Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi

I'm looking for a replacement fancy round 240v 40W bulb for my Grande Century. Ive searched high and low (Australian sites), and there is nothing online, and the wholesailer in the city told me these bulbs are discontinued. Ive tried buying a bayonet converter, but it only converts to the big size, then I need a smaller converter to use the the existing E17 reflectors I have for my other lamps (which may not be powerful enough) and it ends up being too big for the housing anyway. Does anyone know where to get these bulbs or what they would use as a replacement? Thanks

I have tried the 28W 'efficient' bulbs that supposedly replace the 40W bulbs but they are not strong enough.

Yes, B22 is the correct size. And it must be fancy round otherwise the bulb will be too big for the housing. Bell bulbs are too big :(

Hi from UK, there's a specialist seller called beanonline24* who's based over your way...

Thanks Andy. Whilst browsing his eBay page I found a 42W equivalent, and a store nearby that sells them. Will update again when I get home

Works perfectly. Thanks for your suggestion. I’ll go back soon to get the frosted bulb as having the element shine though the base doesn’t look the best. Very happy to have it working again

Glad it works! The right bulb is key, isn't it?
