Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

A completely new lamp is being launched on the 2nd Nov.

Can't link the picture sorry. Won't let me.

But looks die cast, and possibly looking at the curvature it might be taking an astro bottle.

And first 100 out the window. Now a lottery of all the orders placed on the same day. Seems irrelevant to still call it first 100 when it isn't.

What are your thoughts on what it might be?

Yes but only the clear one or goolamp bottles. The ones with a lacquered bottom may pose a fire risk. As with Neo Bottles. They may catch fire or burn. I'm sceptical about this one. The bottle seems rather low and too close to the flame. An overactive tealight could prove disastrous. Hot flame + cold bottle = cracks and smashes. I've seen this happen at school.

The newer Lava bottles with their thicker bases may be ok. But I'd be very careful using older thinner bottles.

Keeping a very close eye on this one.

That's excellent info, I never thought about those issues, only the problem with an over active tea light causing a fire risk, but I forgot that glitter bottles had a coating on the bottom and that they were thinner bottles.

Oh yeah for sure I was only going to use non lacquered bottles.

Has anybody received their new lamp yet?

Mine arrived today not a first 100, looks nice with a glitter bottle, I will need to source an empty new style bottle and then transfer the contents, old style bottles don’t sit securely.

Unfortunately this is the only bottle that sits reasonably securely, I will use clear liquid when I find an empty bottle on eBay.

Here's a picture with Lava. I really like this, needs fine tuning with better tea lights, because the M one burnt too hot and it over heated at about 2.5 hrs.

Lovely build. Nice chunky cap and fits together nicely. But has been specifically made for the newer bottles which fit snug.

when you say newer bottles, what age bottles are you talking about? How long did it take to warm up? Certainly looks great.

I received my new Evo lamp yesterday and over the moon to receive No. 2 of the First 100.

I went for the Yellow with Red Wax colourway. Bit of an early x-mas present to myself so haven't lit it up yet.

The ones with the thicker base and ridge for the bottles to sit flush with the base. Took about just less than an hour. So same as a telstar.

I ordered mine before the email flyer was sent out and still got diddly squat. This is very unfair on loyal customers. M really need to get their house in order. First come first served or scrap the entire idea. Because the current system is NOT first 100 is it?

I do have a no.2 in a previous model though.
