Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

These weren't sold for very long, I don't think. Uses one of the tapered bottles commonly found on the mini sizes of "Peace Lamp" shaped lamps. Might be able to hang it by the handle - depends on how the rods attach at the sides. I'd love to find one of these but, as usual, my budget is zero, so I'm hoping someone else here grabs it and enjoys it!

I'm a few years late on this reply, but this looks like what your referring to. I like it, big square mirror glitter and good movement. The bulges seen on the support rods are threaded, keeping the hood/handle on tight and the lamp as one solid piece. So they can be hung from a planter hook, etc. A nice camping lamp. Now you've given me the idea of swapping out the globe for a "peace lamp" lava one! Though, it may not get hot enough for lava. Much cooler to the touch than the mathmos when running.

I bought mine off of Erin, They are pretty cool candle lamps the glitter is nice.

Interesting, do we know anything about the manufacture when it was released etc

Saying that it looks kinda home made so it may have been a enthusiast making and selling a fue

I know nothing about when these were produced, the member who started the thread says 90's. But it did come in a printed box titled "Candle Glitter", was made in china and was distributed by Creative Motion Industries. The same company behind the cheaper "peace lamp" lava lamps. These candle lanterns were available in silver & black finish. I'm eager to swap the bottle with a lava one (keeping the glitter one of course). If it works, far out!

Geez, looking at a peace lamp bottle, the caps look identical, but maybe it's too skinny at the base.

That is a very nice candle glitter lamp, gunner.  It would be great to have a lava globe that would fit it.   You could play musical globes as we all like to do.   I have the Mathmos Fireflows in all colors, but never saw the lantern glitter before.

That makes sense when you mention creative motion and peace lamps - the bottle is the same shape and the glitter is the same. But its surprising that creative motion which usually associates themselves with peace lamps came up with this gem.

Well, I shouldn't talk about the box without showing a picture. It does look 90's. If so, candle glitter was a bit ahead of it's time. I agree, it is a gem, especially if it'll hold lava bottles too. Are the creative motion lava lamps any good? I've ignored them for years. Remember kinda seeing them in the corner of my eye at discount stores & family dollar type places.

I'm finding all the candle powered motion lamps very interesting. A year ago I never knew they existed and so far, they're a first to everyone I've shown them to. Always smiles.

I really, really, really wish I could find one of these. So cool!

Creative Motion? Not really. Round blobs. They used to come in several colors, but are now most common in red/yellow, red/violet, yellow/blue, and yellow/violet. Spencers still sells the lamps with two squiggly bottles side-by-side which were once marketed as Creative Motion and may still be; those come in two pairs-of-colors at Spencers, as listed above: both of the red lava colors or both of the yellow. The action isn't interesting, to me at least - not like that Fireflow.
