Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Normally don't care to post these kinds of things, but this is the 2nd time I've had issues with this buyer. Both times, they take several days to pay (say they have an eBay gift card to find, first), THEN start asking questions.

Username: generationmac (now changed userid to biditdown)

I recently listed and sold this lamp:

Buyer doesn't make any contact with me until I file a non-paying bidder claim. Then tells me they'll pay for the lamp Wednesday, which is the last day of the case. Says they have to find their eBay gift certificate.

THEN, they start asking me questions about the lamp (bulb used, flow). Admitted they "wanted a glitter lamp anyway" and that they "didn't read the auction correctly to understand this was the "refilled lava" without glitter".

I had a problem with this same user when I sold a wave machine.

Anywho, I'll try and keep it somewhat short.

Seller beware. It just SUCKS that you cannot leave neg feedback for buyers anymore on eBay. I have blocked them from bidding on any future auctions of mine.

Grrr...

I think every one will get a negative sooner or later if you sell on ebay. Some people shouldn't be allowed to use computers.

totally agree

I am BEYOND HONEST when it comes to listing things on eBay. I know I hate being screwed, so I'm pretty detailed when I list items. This Gemlite was no exception. It's half busted and I noted all of that. I melted the base with too high of a bulb. The top was missing. It's been refilled.

I had problems with her before, so it's no surprise she pulled this shit again. If you look at the feedback, you'll see she has no problem leaving negs for people.

She has already been blocked from buying anything else from me and I told her as much.

She does buy the occasional lava lamp, so I'd highly recommend blocking her. It's just not worth the hassle of having to deal with her.

It just burns me that there she sits with 100% positive feedback and she badgers ME. I HATE that I can do nothing while she leaves me negative feedback. What in the F was eBay thinking when they made that change?!?!

karma will catch up with her and it won't have any regard for a silly eBay rating.

I will tell you what I went through and its kind funny. Do you all remember the USB lava lamp. It was about perhaps 4 inches tall and when you plug it in it has a series of phaseing lights with plastic blobs that do not move at all. Even though my description clearly stated that the blobs are made of solid plastic no lava motion people still bought it and I would get the famous email "I thought this was a real lava lamp."
So.....I made the letters in my description to be as big as they can get and once again stated that the blobs are made of solid plastic and that this not a real lava lamp with no motion and people still complained about it not being a real lava lamp after they got it.

Another love note from her today:

"The package is NOT tracking in the USPS system"

But it is. And it's being delivered today.

I have a feeling this isn't the last of this. I fully suspect she'll open a case or claim something happened in shipping.

People are genuinely really stupid and expect you to explain things when they fail to read them themselves. It's annoying. But not surprising.

I will definitely be blocking this person.  Or maybe let her bid once so I can cancel her bid and explain that her reputation is well known and I want no part of it.  Sorry about this grief Erin.  :-(

Wow this really makes me sick..

Can someone show me how to block a user? lol

Yes, I'll tell you how to block an eBayer:

Start here: http://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/biddermanagement.html

Then select: Add an eBay user to my Blocked Bidder/Buyer List

Pretty easy to do. Just add username: generationmac
