Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

i recently came across this auction on eBay for a purple/yellow aristocrat.  just so you know, the first photo with the blinds in the background is my lamp and it's not for sale.  the person who listed the auction used one of my photos which may or may not represent the actual lamp for sale.

report him/her for mis-representing their item since you are not the one selling the lamp yet it tis your picture

That is not ethical at all and I'd report them too.  Thanks for the heads-up, Brad.  Glad I'm not bidding on that one, since I might have if I had seen it and thought that was the lamp I would be getting.  Wonder what the one they are selling "really" looks like.......OUCH.

P. S.  I just wrote that seller and asked him if the lamp pictured was the EXACT lamp I would be getting.  I'll let you know what he says if he answers back.   I did NOT mention anything else.

I hate it when people do that! Last time I pointed that out to someone, they got really nasty with me. The last photo is of a 32oz. midnight, too.

I'll message them. Wish me luck.

I messaged them too, Erin.   I hope they do get nasty.  They have apparently never tangled with a bona fide mountain girl......LOL   I can give better than I get, if provoked.

thanks for sticking up for a fellow goo-head.  marley - what a funny response!

I got a message back, too:

I have one exactly like that doesmt it even matter on whT type of photo we put?

I replied:

The 1st photo and the 3rd photo are two different sized lamps. The first photo is of a 52oz. Aristocrat. The third photo is of a 32oz. midnight. I collect lava lamps for a hobby and I can tell you, buyers are very particular. I would put up actual photos of YOUR item so there's no confusion as to what the person is buying.

Looks like a newbie.  Hopefully, they won't do it again.  Poor auction has been black-balled on OG now!  :>)

I think anyone who wins that lamps is going to be disappointed. It's not clear if they're selling a 32oz. or 52oz. purple yellow. AND, for all we know, it could be a China one, too. Ick.

Agreed, Erin. Thanks for keeping 'em honest!

I've had this happen to me a couple times and ebay will remove it but only if the picture was used for a auction before this one. Not sure how they would react with picture taking from websites like ours or some place like google images. I would just email ebay and see what they do. You really have nothing to lose lol
