Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

After extensive testing,  I'm now offering many NEW glitter colors in clear fast liquid.  They are gorgeous!  Here are a few of the options.  I'll post them all below in this discussion and in my videos.

I've also developed replacement slow glitter formulas for the Florence Art, Heat Tapes, Mastercrafters, and Crestworth glitter lamps of the 60s and 70s.  The liquid in these formulas is non-flammable, non-combustible, and much less toxic than the fast, solvent-based liquid.

To simplify things, both fast and slow glitter liquid are now available at the same prices.  Here are some FAQs on the glitter liquid.

I fill all orders on a first come, first served basis.  I do all of the work by hand and take care to ensure quality.  Please allow 2-3 weeks from payment for delivery.

Have at it, Wanda!!!   You're very welcome!

You're a sweetheart, Kirk!!!

It's true!!  She is also known as Libby Stardust!!

Libby is also being modest, Wanda.  She's helped me from the beginning to ensure that the formula works well and meets expectations.

Ahhhh, Sir Keith, you're a sweetheart too, thank you!!!

I bought a Crestworth Lantern (Port) on eBay UK and had it shipped to me. The lava was fried so I am going to have Kirk refill it. In the meantime, here it is with one of the prior globes I bought form him. Love this new lamp... The wiring wasn't original (it was very thin cord with no switch) and I am not one to source hard to find bayonet lamps anyway. I toyed with a few different sockets that I had in my parts box until I settled on a halogen socket. It was shallow enough to provide decent clearance.

This also gave me a chance to clean the innards of the lamp to get rid of decades of gunk. Here it is with one of Kirk's older globes... medium strand with yellow liquid. Between the liquid, glitter, and copper reflections, at night this thing just radiates a warm glow.

And with a video shot at night as well:

Just beautiful and a nice color choice for the lantern.

that is really cool color combo

gotta LOVE the quality of Crestworth

Very nice work, Chuck. Gorgeous picture and video! Congratulations on the new Crestworth.

It makes me want to find a nickel/copper plating service

Thanks all! Really, though, the glitter looks amazing and that was not my work. I just rehabbed the lamp with new electrics and rubber grommets to protect the new wiring where it has to pass through metal holes. The old wiring was clearly not original since it was thin and wasn't grounded. I have yet to find any US lamp wiring that provides a ground anyway so in lamps like this I am just careful to use grommets to prevent wires wearing through and arcing into the lamp body and I also used that liquid electrical tape all around the splice where the halogen fixture wires connect to the cord. I also covered the inside rough bits with black electrical tape to prevent any wear on wire insulation.
