I would say self-made.

a lot of small bubbles affect the look, is it the same on yours?

of course selfmade...what else? if you have it running for a long time it always results in lots of small bubbles. I'd say he used too much wax though.

I thought it was forbidden to speak about auctions not finished on ebay.

I watched this one already on my watchlist, but it's starting to be too expensive for me.

It passed the £200!

I wonder how much it will cost at the end...

Arne the base of the small lamp looks like a custom one made with an astro cap reversed.

no, only if its something I want;) I sold mine for 500€ ...gues it will go for a similar amount

500€ is a lot for a bottle. (good for you!)

If I'm correct, you need about 5 bottles of Glitterball to fill a Lunar bottle. (the last one I saw was about £40 I think).

So let's say about £200 just for the contend, (not including shipping: about £100 if from 5 different sellers).

About 370eur + a cheap whisky bottle is what it should cost you to make one.

Am I right?

you need 4 bottles to make a well flowing one. the one on ebay is probly made from five. if you are in te uk your calculation is correct. in germany the postage is boosting the price a bit and I used a red purpe globe so I had an original coil. I think I paid around 450 to 500 in the end. also if you use 4 used glitterballs the bottle looks like shit coz due to the larger diameter and general cloudiness of glutterballs you can barely see through it, so another 50€ goes for new fluid.

the £100 shipping was what I was thinking it would cost to Germany from UK (to France it is a little less than £20 for a small lamp like a Jet or an Astrobaby).

You sacrified a Lunar globe for it? (I hope it was shot, because whisky bottle can be find for nearly nothing, and a coil can be done for cheap too)

I thought there wasn't a coil in glitterball?

the silver ones have coils. and yes I killed a brandnew bottle coz i wanted it to be perfectly scratchless and mint.

Not forbidden, but more of a courtesy :)

Yes, I mean it that way.

No police here (I hope :-) )

In this case it's not too bad as it was easy to find.

Of course it would be another story if one of us find a "bubble lamp" at 10£, and somebody else here post a topic like "There is a £10 Lunar brand new in box on ebay" :-)

hahaha yes that would piss me off big time :-D what I also had is I told a member on here i found a bargain and he looked up finnished listings and wrote the seller that its a rare item and worth a lot more...goodbyebargain:)

That is exactly what its all about.  Sellers sometimes just don't know what they're selling.  Stumbled upon a Garfield Icon once listed as a Garfield nightlight.  Once I asked about the missing globe and cap it was all over, but you get the point.
