well claudej I got ny replacement 100w bulb but this bulb is 1.4 to half an inch shorter then the ones supplied by lava light..

Weird man... I put it in the lamp which i alreader shortened the stem on.. and the bulb is sitting and inch lower then what it originally was when it was above the rim... And surpisingly this lamp heated up and ran just as quickly as the lamps that i lowered only half an inch.

So i think ima lower the other two lamps stems another half…

If thr bulb diesnt need to be so high them i guess it should be lowered as low as poasible to keep the wax from burning on the bottom
the answer to your statement…tag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2018-05-07:1566398:Comment:6755182018-05-07T22:24:53.273ZClaude Jhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/ClaudeJohnson

the answer to your statement

Also the 60-70s lamps used a chemical that was so toxic it could kill you from just a teaspoon if you ingested it.. I know in the 80s i believe it was banned and that's probably why the wax and liquid was changed.. not because they were cheaping out but i think because it was too toxic to use for households.

Check the OG archives on how to make your own was with vintage formula

Ya i bought a 72 century and it was the yellow liquid green wax.. And it had a crap ton of powder on the bottom of it that was mixing eith the wax making it ugly.. So i flipped the wax upside down.. Then poped the top and stuck a shishkabob with a loop inside and scraped thin layers off the bottom to keep the powder out..

Ran the lamp few time did that like two more times.. most of the white powder is gone now and the wax looks better... But i had to toss the towel i used…

I just did a ROYAL for a friend of mine and used older LL goo and the MF formula I made for my Colossus

I had to pull some out and replace it with distilled water because it was too light and all the goo floated really quickly and stayed there.

the SLS is present, to coat the globe, it doesn't always suds up after a while

I add a tad at a time after coating the globe to get the flow iI like

Well these lamps were made in 2017. But im not sure on that. My 32oz globe with lava from a new model they brought out wouldnt flow worth jack with just water.. I had to add so much salt to it to get to flow right.. Its the 32oz in ny pic where you said you liked the green.. The one i held next to my grande..

it might have something to do with the size of the globes too.. I think they use some kind of surf in them... because if it didnt have any there wouldnt be bubbles…

I think they use some kind of surf in them... because if it didnt have any there wouldnt be bubbles on the top of the surface when its shaken.. Bubbles are caused by sodium laurel sulfate its why they put it in shampoo and even toothpaste.

Why it worled without adding any in though im not sure.. Lol but thats fine with me.. I did have to add some to get it off the surface it seemed.
COOL
