Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

It's funny how people react to Lava Lamp collectors, even our significant others.  People at work look at you like you're weird, Friends and family whisper behind you're back (OK that might be an exaggeration).  And each time you by a lamp you hear "How many lava lights do you need?"

So, what is your answer to that question:

HOW MANY LAVA LIGHTS DO YOU NEED?

and

how do explain the need to collect MORE?

:D

My quick answer to how many lamps do you need is "all of them"  lol

Well I got 4 all within the first 3 weeks and for now I'm happy (and mostly out of space). But of course I could at least imagine making room for a lantern-style lamp... :P

My simple answer - Too many to count.

I tell everyone who asks, "They're an investment" !

Its not why I buy them at all...

...or, "Its a reward too myself for giving up alcohol, Tobacco and refined sugar".

Edit...Or whatever I'm TRYING to give up THAT particular week...lol.

I need as many as I can get and I need to collect more because I don't have kids, need to keep them safe from a 5 year olds bedroom.

I love the reaction of family and friends when they first see my collection of about 65. All out and running. No one gives me much grief about it because when they see how breathtaking it is, they get it. A couple GFs who stopped by Sunday night were in awe and stayed till past midnight.  One said the ambiance in this room is so awesome I don't wanna leave. :)

As to how many? Who knows. I guess till I run out of room or money. XD

it's the process and everything that surrounds lamps that leads me to buy more.  i enjoy the thrill of eBay auctions, finding deals on CL, and chatting with you all on this forum.  lava lamps also take me back to my teenage years, which i am fond of.

+1 for Brad's comment.
