Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Well I finally ordered one from Lava Lamp.  Waited longer than I thought I would, but needed a good place to display it.

So I ordered it Monday, 6/16/14 and it was delivered today 6/19/14.  Not bad for fedex ground.

So now it's bubbling away happily and looking good!

I thought the same Keith!  I have 2 of the greens (one being a replacement from Lava that ended up de-coiling). 2 left man... Strike the grande iron while it is hot Keith!!

I just checked Amazon, funny that the pink is $20 less than the green.

One of my greens sits as a domed blob at the bottom too Joseph. I can see it is cleanly off of the coil too. Ian had a similar issue and he did a power run of like 5 days straight.  Cranked up full and them slightly dimmed in like 4 hour sessions.  After 5 days he shut it off for a full day and then when he kicked it back on it worked flawlessly.  I am currently running this trick on one of mine (for the second time) as it did work pretty well for me the first time.  I wish I knew why it seems to end up de-coiling though :/

I have both of the HERITAGE Grande's in Green and Pink.  I've only had them for about a month now and a few days ago the neon pink stopped flowing.I turn it on and it looks like it's going to start up because lava with big bubbles start to flow for about an hour or so. Just when you think  the lamp is going to start working right.  The wax begins to slowly sink and unable to rise again until it forms a dome of wax that just sits at the bottom of the lamp.  Every so often it looks like it might kick a glob out but does not. Before this it ran beautifully. If anyone has any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it. Your neon green- HERITAGE- grande sure  makes a very nice looking addition to your collection.

I purchased all my lamps on Amazon and for good reason.  PRICE and no shipping.  What's not to like about that.  EBAY's getting really expensive.  It used to be that EBAY  was the go to place for good deals but I'm starting to find better deals on AMAZON ever day now. Another plus- the customer service is the best ever and no hassle when it comes to returns or refunds.

I've had it running since 6AM this morning so I'm going to start the dimming process in another hour or so.  I'll let you know in a week how things turned out.  I think I can still return the lamp. If I'm able to return for a new one.  I am going to do so.

Thanks for your help.

Joseph,  Here is the picture from Ian that involved info on his fix.

GREAT NEWS!  I'm able to return the defective neon pink for replacement. I still had time to return.  I do like my AMAZON.

I was surprised to see amazon selling the heritage lamps too.  They came up in my "were you looking for..." email last week and I was like what??  Thought only LL had these.

I remember when these came out LL thought they would sell out around Christmas time.  They might be dumping excess stock.

One coil, apparently;

Congrats on the new Neon Grande.  Easily their most impressive factory lamp in recent memory.  Be prepared to add to the mountain of data on the one coil versus two coils, great flow versus pea shooter debate.  Here's hoping your flow is epic and remains that way.

It seems these all flip when they start too...Mine has done it every single cycle.  I guess it's not hurting anything...but I just don't like the idea of the entire wax plug flipping like that every time.  Its almost like its getting too hot too quick maybe from the closer bulb causing it to build up pressure and it flips to relieve it instead of spiking.

Congrats on the Neon Green Heritage Grande, Keith.  My version 1 neon green has been flawless.  I did add a socket extension to shorten the warm-up time.  I still say this is the best lamp LL has produced in a long time.
