Hi, yes It does work - I've uploaded the photo of it switched on, above - it's about 4 messages above this one, with just the one photo numbered 0306. Are you in the US Kim? No-one has actually bought it yet. I'm happy to sell to the first one who is able to make payment and take delivery asap as I need to ship out of the office to clear some space. It would be sent via a 3-4 day service as that seems to be the most economic option I've found so far. I will round the price down a little…

Yes I know shipping can be really expensive - have just asked a couple of couriers who quoted £62.50 and then £45 to the US for the same size / weight parcel so would have to shop around a little more to get the best price. If it was at our warehouse on the mainland it would be cheaper so It might be worth me popping it over there when I next go over, if no-one buys in the meantime.

VOXul said:…

The photos are fine. You're probably just viewing them with a browser that doesn't support their rotation tags. (Many cameras these days always capture images in one orientation, but add a tag indicating which way they should be displayed.)

As for the power adapter, that one will need 230V. It's a different kind of transformer than the Smart Astro adapter pictured above (and indeed most adapters sold today), and will produce an output voltage proportional to the input. The best option would be to find a 110V -> 15V AC (not DC) transformer (1400mA minimum, though more is fine) to replace it. The only possible problem would be if the lamp actually requires 50Hz AC, though most likely it will work fine at 60Hz.
Impressive, thank you for sha…tag:oozinggoo.ning.com,2015-03-18:1566398:Comment:5743222015-03-18T15:36:30.024ZVOXulhttps://oozinggoo.ning.com/profile/NickM278

Thanks for all your messages - sorry for the delay in uploading photos - I had trouble unpacking the lamp again by myself (I'm small and the polystyrene was not on my side!) then could only use my phone camera in my very messy office so please excuse the poor images with bits of poly everywhere and jumbled background. The base is coming away from the glass as the glue used by the factory is not great with changes in temp. I could clear the old and use new but will leave it up to the buyer…

The base is coming away from the glass as the glue used by the factory is not great with changes in temp. I could clear the old and use new but will leave it up to the buyer to let me know what they prefer - it will travel fine as it is and works perfectly sat in the base as per an Astro etc.

Jim - unfortunately the adaptor is a very chunky solid one (see pic) which doesn't resemble the one used for the Smart Astro. However, it may be worth checking whether the Grande Plasma can function with a standard US adaptor ignoring this one completely. It may be that the power requirement isn't as much as the 230v of this adaptor but I am only speculating.
