<p><br></br> You could try a mix of glycol propylene triton x as surf and distilled water I've manage to get a old astro bottle and many more to work but it can be a pain you need just the right balance of density to make it might trial and error and there no guarantee that the wax will work, you can filter the cloudy bottle I got filter from amazon done lots of lamps and worked a treat. <p>Ive never managed to make a fluid work for lava lamps but im pretty sure if you replace the fluid in the old bottle and pour new mathmos ( clear ) liquid in it there a big chance it will either cloud or not flow, as mathmos have changed the formula of the years,</p>
<p>Personally if like myself want to use older bottles for early lamps i replace all the contents from a new astro bottle, the liquid will be alittle less but then top up with de-ironised water. less hassel :-)</p>
