Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

As has been rumoured for a while I think, Mathmos confirmed today on their Facebook page that new colourways are to be released across the range in the coming weeks, starting with yellow/pink now offered on the Neo

Will be interesting to see what else they come up with - dare we get excited?

Another pic with the lamps turned off - very similar-looking. In the background is another blue-white LavaLite bottle, which completes my blueish ballet

Thanks for posting your thoughts. I am going to wait on buying that color combination. I already have a blue-green.

I bought a Neo yellow-pink and it looks just like my Astro Baby yellow-red. I was disappointed.

Well, I bought the new blue-yellow Astrobaby bottle and it`s a bit disappointing:
Compared with the all time running classic blue-green there`s not really a big difference.

So I think I will also try the swapping, cause yellow wax is exciting, and was only seen with the dayglow jet I think?

What I really do miss is the pink-white they once had (see attached pic)
- if anyone of you has this princess and wants to sell it, or maybe swap it - please write me!!

Must say this has been disappointing so far, having only seen one actually new colour, with the rest being ‘cross-overs’ from other models, and even the new colour isn’t particularly distinctive - I wonder if there are still more colours to come?

I hope they would at least make the ‘one day one-offs’ a more regular thing, if they must insist on being so unadventurous with their main colour lines.

On a side note, has anyone got the turquoise/ violet Astro bottle yet? I thought this combination looked quite nice/ vibrant on the Neo, but the Astro variant seems to look much darker, going by Mathmos’ visuals anyway:

Yes, I got mine the other day and it’s one of the best Mathmos colors I’ve ever seen. Their video doesn’t do it justice. It’s not all that dark. Blue/Blue is way darker. I did take a photo of it running the other day.

Nice! I have this in the Neo and really like it. Glad it was added to the Astro line. Now I just have to wait for some other new colors so I can buy in bulk.

I also wish they would make more one-off’s. I need them for my collection. I missed the ones this year.

Well at least we are getting alternative variants for the lamps.

The violet turquoise and blue pink for the astro are just amazing. I love them.

The blue yellow for my telstar is also amazing. It is much lighter than blue green. But would like to see a yellow for the astro.

We need more fireflow pod bottles and io lunar bottles too.

From what ive heard we will be getting one day specials in the new year once the Christmas sales are done. I have asked for clear white millennium telstar bottle replacements as mine has turned dirty peach colour.

But yes lets hope theres more new colours to come.

Does anyone know if mathmos have got a new lamp coming out this year? November is usually the time they release one. But with covid who knows? Perhaps its just the anodised version of the io? What are your thoughts?

Violet pink now available for fireflow and pod lamps. As well as a rerelease for the black fireflow lamp.

All we need now are some new io lunar colours. Hopefully soon.

I emailed them about new iO colors a while back and they replied...not before the holidays. So it sounds like they have something planned coming. Most likely 2021. My bet is the violet/turquoise they have added to the Astro line.
