Semi gloss or satin black that is somewhat heat resistant. I used a stone finish/texture on many of my bases that doesn't say it's heat resistant, and no problems what so ever. Spray for sure, unless your going for the brushed on look. No particular brand. All should work well.<br></br>

Semi gloss or satin black that is somewhat heat resistant. I used a stone finish/texture on many of my bases that doesn't say it's heat resistant, and no problems what so ever. Spray for sure, unless your going for the brushed on look. No particular brand. All should work well.<br/>

<p>I used flat, but I figure that gloss, with a matte overcoat could work. I guess it depends. Are you doing touch up? If so, I used those small enamal paints, for car models & touched up with flat black, worked beautifully!</p>
