Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I just had to share today's rainy sunday project. With one cloudy & non-flowing 10" accent lava lamp, one crystal clear 11.5" with missing base and one $4 tealight oil burner gift set, I was able to assemble  a gem of a candle-powered keeper! No expert here, just messing around. Bottle from 10" fits the frame like a glove, dumped it's cloudy liquid, rinsed with distilled water and refilled with clear china liquid. The satin black spray paint for the cap just happened to go with the stand perfectly. A lucky project for sure, coming out like a nicely produced product. It flows better via candle than it ever did by bulb!

If I could find more of these exact tealight warmer stands I could easily metal file the opening a little bigger and make a version using a larger bottle from an 11.5". Loving the candle powered possibilities!

That looks amazing. That's a great use for an 8oz bottle!

I love it, gunner!!  Excellent work and very creative!!

That's pretty cool!

Awesome! I'll have to try that if I find that kind of holder cheap.

That's awesome! I still love the ones shown on the right, too.

Got to be on the lookout for one of those tea-light stands - one way to deal with a 10" globe.

Wow that is awesome! I've been searching for a Fireflow but they are mad expensive to import to the states (if you can even find them). I think I may follow your lead and rig one up myself! Good job!

Chonzo, I have  pictures posted on my page of all the colors of Fireflows.   Two of them I got from Simon, who is a member on here and from the UK.   They are the blue w/gunmetal finish and the Pink.   The green I bought here in the US from Lamp Lust.  (Horrible name, I know....)

Slightly off topic but how much fluid is in the lava lite mini globes - got some left over glitter from kirk and wondering if it will fill it.

Thanks for the kind words guys! The size bottle I used was from a 10" accent lava, 8 oz size. I found some more "tealight oil warmers" and am currently going a little overboard making these things now. I assembled another one the same size as the original one I posted but in black/clear (goes awesome with the stand).

And most recently, with a metal file and a lot of elbow grease I was able to remove enough metal from the frame to fully seat the larger sized bottle from an 11.5" lava (or 12 oz). Was a little worried the small candle wouldn't be able to get the extra 4oz warm enough, but it works like a charm. Again, it functions nicer than with an electric bulb. My next one will be another larger 12oz with red/clear and gold painted frame/cap. Can't get enough!

And here's my first gold one, it came out very nice. I went with a red/yellow bottle (12 oz size). Preferring the bigger bottles now. It's a pita to file the frame, but the results are better proportioned and the bottles are readily available in-stores for $10 a pop. This one is my favorite yet, very classic appearance Heritageflame? Total price = $14.00. Thinking silver/blue/white next.

Awesome, gunner!!   I really like the gold with the yellow/red, great work!!
