I believe Kirk posted a video on March 24 at 3:41 AM showing the 14,000 fiber spray with his Sunburst 4000... SEE PAGE 12 OF THIS FORUM THREAD. His video, and comments, convinced me to order 3 sprays... great advertising!
Has anyone posted a picture of the 14,000 in their fantasia (big stainless ball, maybe sunburst 4000)? If so, where do I find the picture? Thanks so much, susan
When I receive an old spray that are pretty dirty / dusty, I lay it out flat on a tray and spray it with a cleaner like 409. I let it set undisturbed for a few minutes. I then place it in a sink of warm water with a little liquid laundry detergent, (such as Tide), again letting it set undisturbed for a few minutes. After all the strands are saturated, WHILE THE SPRAY IS STILL UNDER WATER, I agitate the fibers very gently with my fingers. After about 5 minutes of agitating, I gently remove the spray, holding it up-side-down by the base to drip, and place it back on the tray. I fill a sink with cold water, (I find cold water is best for rinsing, and creates less suds), and gently rinse using the same gentle agitation, AGAIN AGITATING WHILE THE SPRAY UNDER WATER. After several rinses, until the water is clear, I place the spray on a clean dry tray and let it set undisturbed for several days, until it's dry, and can be handled.
Perhaps some else can offer a better method, but this seems to work well for me. As long as the fibers are handled gently, I've never been hurt, and there is very little breakage. After the sprays are dry, they look new. (I do live in an area with soft water, which may make a difference.)
I forgot to mention, when sending funds through PayPal, there is an option to send foreign currency. I chose the Euro option, and simply entered the amount, (in Euros), quoted on Wilfried Vermond's invoice. (In the comments section provided by PayPal, I notated the reason for my payment, including the invoice number, invoice date, merchandise description, model number, etc. I also requested payment confirmation. Mr. Vermond responded very quick via email advising my payment had been received.)
The reciprocal of the 1.135504 exchange rate, (Euros to US$), is 0.880666... (1.0 divided by 1.135504 = 0.880666). So, US $191.67 x 0.880666 equals 168.80 Euros.
Does anyone know what that new price is converted from Euros to USD just in case any members are interested in purchasing a new spray and also vise versa USD to Euros so that when someone is to use paypal they will know what amounts to put in. Also from experience can any member disclose what it cost them to purchase and have shipped to them one of these sprays in USD?
The most important thing, when cleaning the glass fibers: Never touch the wet fibers after washing. (No hairdryer, towel or anything else!!) Take the brush out of the water and let it dry for some days. Then shake the brush a little bit and let it dry one or two days more. Then put it again on top of your lamp and be happy.
Here's an update for my order dated March 24 for three 14.000 fiber sprays shipped DHL from Germany to Denver, CO USA:
March 31... Shipment left Germany
April 3... Arrived in US
April 4... Awaiting US Customs clearance.
** WARNING **
If you do not use a thick enough layer of electrical tape on the ferrule, the bottom of the ferrule will damage your color wheel.
The Pyrofag ferrules are a little longer than the Fantasia ferrules, and they need a generous layer of electrical tape so they don't drag on the color wheel.
Thanks to my UK friend, Andy, for pointing this out to me.
The sprays still work great -- just be sure to use enough electrical tape.
