Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I've never seen or heard of this one before:

Are these icon ones really this pricey?  The bid start seems okay, but the BIN price is up there (for my budget at least!).  It is pretty cool looking.

And there are a couple of these, are they old enough to be pre-China?

I had that clear phone too! Right beside my blue/white midnight starship. Together they were kinda like a lava phone.

Yep, the link that Brad provided is both the bulb and the store. I've ordered from them several times and always had great service. Just be sure to order enough to make it worth the shipping cost.

Yeah, one bulb at $3.65 with shipping is almost $14.  I think I'll just buy an $8 dimmer and be done with it!

there are some other sites out there, but that one had the bulb in stock.  the other one i used before (bulb town) did not show the 30w bulb that i ordered from them before.  dimmers are great, but those extra cords drive me crazy.

The red boxed lamps show are China made. They are the first lamps to be made in China in 2003.

That lava lite phone is looking more interesting (though the price isn't).  It would look a lot better without the Lava logo plastered so large right on the front of it.  Did it come in any other color schemes?

This is a good reference guide to all this lava.

But a lot of the odd ones like the icons and the phones aren't really documented in that resource page (at least yet).  I'd like to see more information there about the era specific packaging used over the years.  Still, that page has a lot of great reference information.

Here are the Icons, I believe they are all listed.. http://oozinggoo.ning.com/page/ceramic-icons

As far as the phone, It was only offered in the one color scheme. It might not be an official LavaLite product as it was not sold by them, they only supplied the globes but im not positive. The super hero ceramic line (Batman, Superman etc.) was sold the same way, LL supplied the globes but another company sold the items ( Lyon Int. if I remember).

The phone was always an item that seemed to be ignored by most collectors, im not sure why... I avoided it myself. There was never an issue with them as far as I know and were highly available back in the day for cheap. Just one of them items that never garnered interest .

The LavaLite light was another item that was more rare and hardly seen, I did pick up one of those and it is a very well built heavy lamp. Its one of the few items im glad I grabbed when I did. If the phone grabs your eye, get it while you can if its the right price.

Fantastic on the icon page, looks like it has been updated with a lot of new info and photos.

That lamp looks fantastic, never seen one of those before!

I've never seen the lava table lamp before, either. Love it.
