Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Ok, I need some advice. I have two yellow goo/clear globes. One is a 1991 "princess" white 32 oz with a screwtop cap. The goo in this one is not oozing. It just sits in a blob on the bottom. Using different base combinations that run cooler doesn't make any difference. I am not sure if it is dead or not.
(BTW it HAS been shaken more than once, (I was young and foolish once, now I am no longer young!!) Seriously, I have learned DO NOT SHAKE YOUR LAMP, IT WILL RUIN IT!)
The other globe is also a 32 oz with a bottlecap, but it is missing some water, (and maybee goo?). It also has 2 coils, one of which is broken, and sticks half-way up the globe, UGLY.
Now my question, If I mix the two, will that revive the "dead" goo? Or should I replace the contents and discard the dead goo? Can I mix the water to make the right amount if I do the switch?

Thanks!

I haven't tried a 60w bulb, but at times it does come away from the coil, with maybe 20% to 40% touching the coil.
Thanks, Bohdan,
I tried a 60w bulb and yes it flows, but of course it is too hot to run that way. I noticed that the coil doesn't cover the base completely, only about 80%, so I need to take the coil out and stretch it. If it continues to flow poorly, I will put the 60w back in and use a dimmer.
Is the screw-top cap on the 32 oz globes easy to remove? What is the chance of breaking the top?
