Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

If your goo is faded, or you want to change liquid and re-use the stock goo and bring it back to life, try this dye (linked below) from Michaels.  It is cheap and has worked great for me.  A $4 bottle will color two 14" or 17" lamps.  I re-energized the lava in a 52oz using lavender.  Two applications made it very dark, almost black.  I used tap water for my first one and it is amazingly clear.

I am doing one today and try to make it a little better,

The lava in my lamps really takes to this Artminds dye, it kneads it into the blobs very well and is great to watch.  It really brought the lava back to life on my old 52oz globe, that I got for $5 on Craigslist.  Check the pic below.  It comes with a dropper, making it super easy to use.

Good to know!  Thanks :)

Thanks Much - I have been trying to find a good dye since Peak went by bye! Michaels is down the street from me and I need some yellow dye.

I had rebuilt a grande and found some liquid white dye online, only to add it to the lamp and have it crash the whole darn thing! I think the dye needs to be oil based?

Also, anyone ever try the Maryscents dyes?

The dye mixes well, but be careful not to use too much, as it will thin the wax.
