I just bought two of them on eBay and yes the bottoms get hot from the bulb and warp.
etter than I'd hoped. And the box too! Wait, it gets better, not only did I score this gem (pun intended) for a very reasonable price, my cousin refused to let me pay him back. I spent quite a few years restoring his 64 GTO and even though he paid me for my work, he considered this as a thank you for doing such a great job (his words, but I AM proud of the work I did on his car).

bably a cost-cut on the bottle which allowed them to put the saved money into designing a lamp around said bottle. Same for the square Mystique, which also used a liquor bottle. Some actually have "LIQUOR BOTTLE" cast into the glass on the bottom.…
