Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

A photo used by French collector Karoll when selling some lamps. Here we see three major categories of boiler: the fountain (1 and 4) standard boiler (2) and lavaboiler (3) The lavaboiler shown is a rare model. The fountain, no. 4, is the most common fountain, with three tiny nozzles for the liquid. The two on the left, made by someone called S. Vera (more info needed - another name seen on boilers is F. Vaudan, Paris) are very, very rare. One has a cool glass donut. The other has two fountains - for every few squirts of the lower fountain, pressure builds up to intermittently operate the upper, and another unique feature is the return pipe at left. All of these are on my boiler list, as are replicas of both the S. Vera label and the Fait Main ("hand made", seen on many boilers) label barely visible on the fountain No. 4's base.

Mr. Smith saw this - and many others - with his own eyes in 1974. Hats off to him, the first enthusiast ever to have described seeing these magnificent lamps back when they were new!

Yup, that's my favourite right there. NUMBER ONE!!  :))  Absolutely fascinating to watch!!  Believe me, when it's working, you could stare at it all day and not get bored!!  (I WAS 13 at the time though...36 years ago!!)

Number 3 would be a great model for an actual lava lamp. I love number 1 and 3!

Email me. I have videos of a fountainboiler (this one, in fact - poor quality) as well as one showing one of Vaudan's lavaboilers in action, and a self-made video of my own boiler doing it's thing.

The other categories of boilers are: lavaboilers with glass beads, bubblers, glitterboilers (like a Geyser Lamp) non-electric hand boilers, and the rare lava geyser.
