Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Here’s another ‘Frankenlamp’. It’s a silver Wizard base and cap from around the mid-90’s. The globe is from the aforementioned 1987 Enchantress that was shaken. I used the liquid and lava from two contemporary 20 oz. model 2103s to refill the globe and screwed the cap back on. For whatever reason, I couldn’t get the camera to focus on it as well as I’d like but as you can see, it’s a lovely lamp. Me and my wife enjoy it a lot in the bedroom as a soft backlight. It doesn’t flow as well as the 1987 formula does. It seems that sometimes the lava will go to the bottom and have a hard time recombining with the lava already at the bottom. I have a coil in it but when I filled it with lava I put some extra in there. Does anybody have any thoughts on why this is happening? Is there too much lava in the globe? I’d hate to take it back apart if it’s not necessary. It looks like the Enchantress got a new lease on life anyway!~

Thanks Passcal. Bet the color combo would look great in a Colossus lamp too. The lava/liquid from the model 2103s is a very common Wal-Mart lamp if you wish to make one for yourself. Also of note is the fact that this is the only contemporary color combo that seems to work well under the current LW formula.
