Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

These are both the low-wax version. Orange/yellow and green/yellow. The orange/yellow's base is repainted, so for now, it sits on this one. Both have the two-part bases with the cylinder inside. The green/yellow cleared up, too! Weird flow though. Need to try a different bulb. Also, yellow/orange is hard to photograph, but this is one clear lamp!

That is not actually the repainted base in the pic. The repainted base is here: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/photo/base-painting?context=user  Thanks Storm!

Beautiful!  Great job on repainting the orange base.  Original finish looks real striking on the green!  Would love to find these myself some day! :)

I didn't do anything special to clear them. The yellow/orange was clear, the green/yellow was like this when I pulled it out of storage: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/photo/green-yellow-century-what-happened?.... It was clear, got super cloudy and then cleared up on its own from running it a few times. The very first models of Lava Lite lamps in the 60s had a lower-than-you-see-now wax level in the 52 oz. Century models. It's very noticeable when you compare two globes side-by-side.

Pardon my newbness, but what is the difference between a "low wax" version and a regular lamp. Thanks again in advance.

Did you do anything special to clear em Erin or were they just clear to start off. Thanks.

Thanks! I wish I could photograph the yellow/orange better, but it's hard!
