Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Late 60s (I believe) Aristocrat Squiggle. I got this off eBay and it was pretty cloudy. I borrowed Autumn's MSR filter and filtered the liquid and it looks pretty good now! The flow is weird, but it's a really neat lamp. :)

My globe sits in there just fine. However, the liquid has started to cloud up again since the filter. There is this white/off-white stuff under the orange wax...I think that's the culprit.

Hmmmm.  Maybe I better take a closer look at my base and socket.  Something ain't right.  My bulb clearly hits the globe.

Not a problem so far. The globe sits in there fine and all is well.

Save your receipt.  I sense you will find that those sit a fraction of an inch too high and the globe won't sit properly.  :-(

I found three 30W 20R bulbs at Lowe's today for $11 so I bought them. Trying one out now.

Well - banner day.  Gonna fire up my Squiggle for the first time.  Giving it a go with a 40 watt R14.

Yes, can you link us to this 25W bulb? I have a 30W flood in mine, I think.

Bohdan - what style 25 watt bulb do you use?  My Squiggle is still banished to the basement until I can find a suitable bulb.

Thanks Diin! I can't run it for very long. Within a few hours, it overheats and the lava gets even weirder. Just circular blobs floating around the middle.
