They're on the mantle right now, since that's the only place I could think to put them, but I have to move them soon and they might end up on carpet too. I use a level and make sure the Grandes are right on, it makes a difference, and they don't exactly sit perfectly unless adjusted.

It's not really clear in the picture, but they have very small feet which allow a little air circulation underneath. These two are sitting on a metal filing cabinet, and I didn't like how hot it was getting..

If you're interested, I also got this one for my grande. (I wasn't comfortable with having it just sitting on the carpet.)

OCD aka CDO!!!! Where did you find those coaster type thingys your Wizards are sitting on? That's a great idea!
