Boiler with coil and cylindrical metal base. A straw-colored variant has a wider glass reservoir and corresponding larger base opening. Whereas some boilers fill up from bottom to top before boiling, this is one of the few which begin mostly full.

Not so sure, Mr. Smith, there were some wild 'modern' ones. Some with the cylindrical top have a donut-shaped center bulb with a hole through it--!

This one has a--"towards the end of general production"--look to it!! ....No where near as much character as the others and slightly more "modern".....79--early 80's ??
