Early bright copper CoachLite Lantern (CL find)

I read somewhere that the early CoachLites were just repackaged Crestworth lamps. This one is dated Sept. 1971 and sure looks like the original Crestworth lanterns.

Regardless it is in pretty decent shape, we'll see how it flows when it warms up.

The lantern lid or the bottle lid?  I have had it completely apart for cleaning and saw no distinguising marks aside from the "Sept 1971" label on the bottle lid.  The base has a very faded "use a 40w bulb" label and I believe an Underwriters Lab label and that's it.  The "copper" lantern lid has no markings or labels on it.

If you unscrew and take the lid off I would be able to ID it 100%, but I reckon it's a Crestworth Coach lantern. Have a look at my gallery, there is a photo showing one disassembled.

Yes, green felt on the bottom.

That looks like a Crestworth Coach lantern to me - does the base have felt?

Wow, it overheated really quickly and the wax was riddled with bubbles.  I'll have to try it again tonight with a dimmer attached.  If it still has issues I'll boil the wax this weekend.

Great score!!!  Looks to be in great shape for early 70's!!!

I wasn't even looking at the time.  Actually, I'm not all that enamored with the coach lamps, but it looked like it was in good shape and the price was medium reasonable.
