You are smart, Shawn.  That's exactly what I did - let painted globe set on the base to dry/cure the paint.  The paint works great!

That is awesome! I may have to get some of those glass paints myself, I take it you didn't need to put the glass in the oven to bake the paint on right cause the bulb is baking it instead?

WOW, the painted gels on the bottom set the silver glitter off into the realm of the holo! That looks awesome!

It's small square (.035") silver glitter.  It's much smaller (large square is .250") and it's not holographic.  The small silver glitter gets it color from the painted bottom.

There was just enough red, green, and blue paint left on the the bottom for me to see how it was originally painted.

The paint is Pebeo vitrea 160.  A transparent paint for glass.
