Well, you could make your own like I did. It's not really that hard, actually it's quite easy. If you don't have a 5 below near you you could always get the glitter and solution from kirk and buy the lamp online or in stores. I was lucky and found that lamp at Spencer's locally.

It will cost you around $60 to $70 to make and a tiny bit of your time. It's my wife's favorite.

In the second video, you will see a greenish one I just made. Got the lamp on clearance from kmart for $10 (was a lava lamp) and did the same thing, this time I had glitter in other lamps I just transferred so I didn't have to buy 5 below glitter lamps this time.

Since I am tight on room, I had to consolidate what I have so I choose to make a bigger (the green one) glitter lamp instead of having several smaller ones. Actually the green one came out quite nice if you ask me :)

If you decide to make one and never have yet you can ask me any questions you want :)

Oh, based on my constant glitter playing, I would have to agree that 52oz bottles make for really nice glitter lamps. The 32oz are nice but can't compare to the 52oz. I think the bottle size is just perfect for a glitter lamp.

Grandes, an entirely different story and cost is astronomical if you ask me to make one. I have a 2003 red grande glitter I would love to redo one day but I don't think I will ever tackle that project due to fear of not being able to seal the bottle correctly.

Thanks!  They look really nice as glitters.  I keep having the urge to pick up the red one.

Jage,

I made that glitter lamp from a store bought (spencers) lava lamp. The lava lamp model is:

It was not bad as a lava lamp but I thought it would look better as glitter, video below (watch in HD for better results). I simply emptied the bottle, gave it a very good cleaning, let it dry for a few days and used store bought glitter lamps to fill (from 5 below).

I like the red base glitter lava in the background.  Does anyone have the lava version of that one?  Thoughts?  I'm thinking of picking one up.

The Royale is definitely an interesting lamp. Of the two I have, the one flows eerily like a 90s lamp, with a lot of snaking and stretchier blobs where the other, which still flows nicely for China formula is your typical China flow. I agree an all-glitter version would have been neat. I am willing to bet they didn't meet their mark on these as production, even outsourced forced them to price it out of their typical market. I had no intention of buying one until I found it in person for so cheap.

Thus far the royale is very nice. Maybe doesn't flow as good as U.S. production but the colors are very vibrant and fluid is crystal clear.

The double play I am firing up in a few hours for the first time.

I must say that they should have kept this size in production, made additional color combos and lowered the original asking price a bit.

Even better they could have kept the size and made some glitter versions as in this size, a glitter version would look superb!
