@ John HYes i had the same opinion years ago. What I really like about the glitter is, that it will never stop working.Lava bottles will get old over time, maybe get cloudy or poor flow.
With glitter you can shake the bottle without problems and it will not get old :-)
Thanks for the breakdown. Your lamp is very nice. Keep posting.
The Grande Kit would cost 138,74 $ + Shipping 70,75 $ = 209,49 $Our liquid is in the quality range of the Mathmos Astro babys and is completely made in Germany with very vibrant colors and wonderfull flow. You cant compare with liquids comming from china.Handcrafted in Germany VS. mass production cheap china shit :-)
There is just one problem - goolamps liquid and glitter is very expensive for a grande conversion, I got 32 oz bottles of rainbow glitter and liquid from lavalite for 15.00 each to create one grande I needed 8 . Cost was only 120.00 and shipping was free. I then popped the tops and poured into grande globe. I uploaded photos of two completed lamps a couple of weeks ago. See my upload page for photos of completed lamps. Using goolamps formula I would be paying almost 300 US dollars for one grande conversion which includes shipping. When the cost comes way down I may consider purchasing for another two I want in green.
When I first got into lava lamps, I was never really into glitter lamps. Oh boy that opinion has changed. That looks awesome!
The Glitter liquid is from Goolamp, which is my company. Here is the Onlineshop: www.goolamp.comWe have a Grande Kit in the shop (the 6500ml one) and ship worldwide. The Glitter is specialy made for the lamps and not a normal glitter. Its coating is very high quality. You can see Videos of the flow on the youtube channel: www.youtube.com/c/goolamp
Where did you get the glitter and liquid for your lamp? I purchased glitter and liquid for 2 grande several years ago from a seller here and the glitter lost all it's chromatic coating within a year and I was only using a 60W bulb instead of the recommended 100 that comes with the grande glitter lamps. I thought using a smaller wastage lamp would help keep the glitter shiny and new. The liquid also turned a piss yellow. It was expensive for such short lived glitter lamp lives. When I first got the liquid and halo glitter the lamps looked fricken amazing. Then it the glitter just started fading and never stopped fading. I still have the lamps sitting downstairs but you cannot see the glitter anymore at all. Whatever the liquid is it ate up all the coating leaving me with clear mylar flakes. I'm still bummed. I thought they would last as long as the LavaLite glitter and liquid which never seems to lose it's color or chromatic effect. I was wrong. Theses things happen. I've been hesitant to buy from another vendor because of my first purchase. Now I'm buying a bunch of LavaLite lamps then pouring them all into 27'' globes to get what I want . No let downs so far.
Love, love, love!!
