Art...Iv'e owned the violet/red for over two years from new and it flows and glows as well as any good lamp shoud.

The blue/yellow I got second hand three years ago and the date on the cap is 2001, its a bit slugish so I wrap a towel around it to get it going and then it flows fine.

Thanks Pete, The Grandes are pretty big and pretty heavy too as I found out when I carried the red one home from Debenhams half price blue X boxing day sale in over a foot of snow and ice two years ago. I live about a mile from the town centre and all the roads were gridlocked but I was determined to get it. Uphill all the way back, I thought I was going to have a heart attack, took me hours to recover...lol.
