I got this from an eBay seller in December 2016. Cost about $158 total. It's a GORGEOUS lamp. I *cannot* photograph it accurately - it's really hard to photograph the globe, which is red liquid with red lava. Base and cap are copper and are smooth and solid. Everything is as it should be, except I can't get the top piece all the way in the base so I can put the screw in.
The globe has a shatter-resistant coating, which you can feel if you gently press your fingernail into it.
Overall, I'm impressed. The quality is top-notch. Running on US power is super easy; I actually had the needed cable/adapter at home. 10/10 - would buy! :)
Yes, I've checked that. It's about 1/8" away from fitting! LOL Oh well.
Super-classy, these! Erin, have you made sure the grooves in your light reflector are matched to the fins inside the base?
If I get some more funds, I may have to have you secure me another one, Pete! :)
Delighted for you Erin.
Picturing an Astro sized Neo !!! ... there's no pleasing some people... lol.
Well that blows. :( How can Mathmos tell him what he can and can't sell?
I do notice mine runs kind of hot after 5 hours, I wonder if a dimmer on it will help some.
Yes I was interested in one of those all Chrome Astros lamps and wanted to see if he could get them to find that all his lamp were taking off. Here is his message~
I am really sorry we fell out with mathmos they weren't happy us to sell US market due to electric currency difference and thought it is hazard.
If changes in future we will contact you
Shawn, really?! That sucks! I wanted to buy another one! Why were they shut down by Mathmos? That stinks. :(
