I dont mind the color of the base. For me, its the shape. My room, having a 60s/70s psychedelic theme, the rocket ship look sort of clashes. Maybe if I spray paint it a textured brown it might look nicer. If I ever see a yellow/red one, Ill have to get one! If you dont have a picture up already, you should post one :)

sounds great.. I find these lamps a bit under appreciated.... I admit I am not fond of the base material and have considered painting mine..   If you get a chance and that is if you like the lamp well enough.. you should get the yellow/ red combo.. of the 3 I have .. by far the best

Actually Kira, it is on a high shelf, just inches from the ceiling :) Honestly though, I prefer putting these  tables next to a wall.That way, wheres a projection on the wall and the ceiling!

yes.. these work great on dimmers.. I have a few of them.. they are fun lamps.. and if you can get it on a higher shelf it gives a great show on the ceiling..
