Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

This is a china 52oz that I've regooed and painted the base and cap. I'm really just starting to get into modding these lamps, and would love to do one with a "crackle" finish, but every time I experiment, I never get it right... This is really my favorite lamp at the moment.

looks great man. I used Krylon metallic gold paint and it is too brown, I didn't use any clearcoat. Next base I paint gold I will do the same way you did.

Nice paint job, there isent many gold coloured bases out there.

The clear coats really give it a nice finish.

Nice work. A lot nicer than the way I'm sure it started. Nice "emperor" style ceiling fan, too (I collect ceiling fans as well).

I used a gold metallic paint layered with a clearcoat three times.  Then finished with three coats of clear to give it depth.  I think it just made it look plastic...  Like an import car bumper...  <sigh>
