Crestworth/Mathmos

"The cap is a Crestworth but the base I had was in a sorry state, but I always wanted a yellow/red Crestworth Astro mini, so I ordered a Astrobaby base second hand from eBay and spray painted it to match the cap. Looks vintage and made me very happy."

"Great paint job. Looks very well done. Was this based on Mathmos Astrobaby or earlier Crestworth Astro mini?"

Blue Mathmos Jet Concept

"This looks great. I am tempted to try more plastikote colours as my brass Crestworth came out so well. I am just scared to ruin one of my Jets."

Crestworth/Mathmos

I bit the bullet and spray painted a base for my Crestworth. I think it has turned out amazing! I am very happy with the result!

Plasti-kote question.

I have an old brass Crestworth Astrobaby the bottle and cap are fantastic, but the base is beaten up. I have an old silver Astrobaby base that I want to spray paint 'brass' using Plasti-kote. I was wondering if anyone has attemted this before? Will it work? What were your results?See More

"From what I can see they are flowing quite nicely. I will give them a few weeks cycling and see what happens. The bases are really cool."

"I have purchased several clearviews in the U.S. from spencers and each bottle was crystal clear. The lamps I got were leftovers that no one purchased."

"Oh I have one like that. But a silver cap and base. Green wax, blue liquid. It was only about £10. I quite enjoy it."

Something Interesting About Me:
I live in Scotland and collect Ouija boards and Lava Lamps.
Where I Live:
SCOTLAND
My First Lava Lamp was:
I was given a Lava lamp for Christmas when I was about 13. I used it most nights for a year when the bulb finally blew. I put It into storage. It was a cheap china knock off, but as I remember was a nice flow. 2 years ago I found a mini rocket lamp at a car boot sale for £2 I bought it. I was amazed once again. I started researching lava lamps, I had never even heard of Mathmos! I was hooked! My nephew wanted my little rocket lamp so I gave him it, and started heading for bigger and better lamps, 2 years later and I am the proud owner of many Mathmos lamps.

I have tried to explain to my friends how great they are, referring to them as "the perfect pet", but they just don't get it.

I have still never found my original lamp I had when I was 13... *sigh*
