Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I saw this video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jhv-1QkUu0
And I saw "Lava Louie". Now what I gather from a google search is that this is a place that you buy just wax from and then you can add it to an empty globe.
My question is as follows: Is this "Lava Louie" still in business and if so, how do I go about buying? Does he have a website?

Thanks. I would definitely consider buying that. Now since Grandes are really hard to come by here (and I am not going to have on shipped in Canadian winter (its -28 out now), I only have 52 oz. lamps. Would a lava louie kit work/look good in a 52oz.?
Lava Louie is the guy that has been working on the recipe of the goo for last few years. You might ask "goo kits' about the tempature when mailing. I think it would be alright though, because the goo is seperate from the solution, and to make the solution, you mix it fresh with distilled water at the time your doing your lamp. Im aucturally ordering this same kit to redo my brand new Grande that I bought on the internet, and arrived so cloudy that I cant see the lava. Im so glad there is a way of fixing it. In my opinion, not just fixing it, but replacing the contents with far more supieror product. Their product is truley beautiful....................
Wait, you replace the liquid too and not just the wax? Also, does the wax come in hard wax form or do you have to melt it to put it in the lamp?
Joshua,
You replace the liquid as well. It is the only way to ensure you will have a crystal clear lamp. The wax comes hardened in a HDPP bottle. You melt it down and use the utensils provided to put it into the lamp. The instructions tell you how to do the whole process.

Last question I promise!
What does each section on the ordering part mean? And can you get colored liquid? For the premixed options, what are some examples of colors to put in that field? Can you put any color you can think of? Also how much surfactant do I need for a 52oz?
Joshua,
The premixed options are for people that do not want to color the goo themselves. It says "premix to secondary" that means secondary colors. The primary colors are red, blue and yellow. You mix those colors and you get orange, purple and green. A standard kit comes with red, blue and yellow dye packs that you can use.

The kit comes with instructions explaining ratios for the goo to water and the surf to water.

Jonny
Thanks, but my questions were more about the actual ordering. With the colors, you said that the standard came with red yellow and blue, but on the bottom it says color packs, what are these? Also what amount of surf do I buy? 4oz? And is it possible to color the water/liquid also, like a yellow goo purple liquid lamp?
Josh,
The color packs are for ordering our black light colors. The kit comes with 4oz of surfactant which is more than you need in case you need to start over on the distilled water process. Please read the site www.gookits.com or go into the gookit conversion forum here on oozinggoo to view what comes in the kit.

It is possible to color the water, at your own risk. There are many companies that produce water based colorants but you never know what they put in there. If they used regular water while making the dye it could contaminate your distilled liquid. The colorant could eventually float to the top or settle at the bottom as well. We recommend you try out having a crystal clear liquid and then decide. Again, Magma Tower is not responsible if you ruin the wax.

I was just ordering and I found out that your shipping to Canada is $46.50 bringing the cost of a standard kit to $81.50US. I can only spend $50CAD as I have a Visa giftcard. Send me a message if your rates go down because I really would like to order.
