May I just call you Alpha? Thank you for the nice welcome.
The princess is doing well, but my son's lamp is giving me grief. He is three and I think he may have shook it. It still moves, but it is slow and I can see clear "bubbles" moving inside the wax. I will need to look and see if anyone has ideas.
Thank you for the welcome jerome, sorry I haven't replied your comment earlier. I've just started to be interested in lava lamp not too long ago. The reason is because in my country, Indonesia, lava lamps are not very common to find. In fact, I haven't found one single lava lamp shop yet in my country. So I had an idea to make a Lava Lamp Online Shop. Frankly I haven't bought any lamps yet, because like I said, I coudn't find any particular shop that has lava lamps for sale. I was wondering if you could give me some tips on where to start my business. Thanx before for everything Jerome.
Yep, Lunars are rare here in Australia. I think that I've only ever seen one other that I can recall. I'm going to take mine apart soon and give it a real polish. The aluminium should really gleam in my books. I'm also a life-long Tintin fan, and was very happy to hear that the inspiration for the Lunar most likely came from the rocket in "Destination Moon" and "Explorers on the Moon" - both of which are my favourite in the series. Very cool, no?
Well thank you for the warm welcome.....I have always had this fascinated with Lava Lamps since I was a child. My grandmother had one in her bedroom it was blue and red. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. So when I was about 16 I started buying my own lamps....I had about 6 when of various sizes....my favorite was the blue and red one I found at a thrift store (was totally surprised that it still worked). Our home was broken into and what they did not steal they destroyed. I will never understand the evil that lerks here....anyway I just recently purchased me another lamp....They are different now...this one has a silver base and is blue and yellow....I love watching these things......
This is all very helpfull! Thank you very much!
I never expected it be of great quality, after all I saved it from being thrown away. I'll try running it for ages, see if I can melt everything back into flow. I had an idea about submerging it in hot water, though I just wanted to run that past you guys before I tried anything stupid.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome. I recently got a new lamp so I'll stick around here, see if I can pick up some more tips :)
Wow! you must be psycic. It arrived a few days ago, cloudy as all get out. Im trying the cycling method to try and clear it up. I dont have good feelings about it working though, after reading things on this site. I dont really want to pay the thirty dollar shipping and handling to send it back. My excitment about recieving and having the "GRANDE" has dimmed tremendously. I feel like Ive been stuck with a "Grande" of an eyesore..........
