Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I've always wanted an old lava wall sconce, but have never seen one in real life. Does anyone here own these lamps?

I think there are perhaps only the two lucky owners here, Fogrider and Crestworth Limited.
There are a few more. I believe there are at least three of the Crestworths owned by collectors. Fog has the Empress Lava Lite (large model) and I have the Princess Lava Lite (Consort-size model). I think a shot of mine is somewhere in my photos, alongside my Empress before it was traded to Fog and restored beautifully for his collection.
Sorry for not being more active on one of my FAVORITE SITES! Here's a couple of photos of my Princess and Empress. They both are complete with the original backing foils and original mounting brackets. The globe for the Empress was a generous donation from my partner's collection.

I will be posting my Crestworth Wall Mounted Lava shortly. I'm working on finishing up my room of collectibles (a lot of lavas). When I finish, I'll post photos. Admittedly, I have lavas and glitters all over the apartment, but the largest concentration of them is in one room.

Loving the Decor, my favourite era is 50's 60's 70's
Thankfully, they still sell the medium-base plastic sockets with a rotary switch in the center of the threaded mounting pipe on the bottom; the Empress' socket had the switch knob broken off. I replaced it before passing it along in a trade. And Fog made it shine like I never did, AND gave it the right globe (I had modified it into an Empress/Princess hybrid since I lacked a globe). Both lamps have a medium base socket, but the Princess uses a medium-to-intermediate reducer in the socket for its 15watt bulb. The Empress takes a tiny flared spot bulb.

They look great flanking that nice 60s bim-bam clock, Fog. Love that lil' chill pad-type room they're in, too. You have the hands-down coolest stuff!
Thank you, Jonas, but I'm not Fog and I didn't get the Empress from you. I got mine from eBay. It came with a much larger globe (the wrong one, but it fit). I got this globe from my partner as a gift (the correct globe). It didn't need any restoration and actually had the original hanging bracket.

I think you're confused, this is Bryin.
wow - if i had one of those my house would belong in a film from the color climax corporation.....
Yeah, I'm totally confused, sorry. Fog Rider guot my Empress, and he DID fix it up.

Yours is, then, one of only two I know to exist - one of the rarest of the models that HAVE been found, right up there with the Apollo, the Executive and the musical lamp! (The only lamps rarer are those that have NEVER been found, like the Prayer Lites)
Aren't the '67 Expo ones up there as one of the rarest? Do those have a name?
One collector (I can never remember his name, but he collects clocks too) named the Expo '67 lamp the Apollo - it's in my shortlist there. Reason being, the centerpiece of the USA Pavilion at Expo '67 was the Apollo Capsule, and this lamp's base is a cone like the capsule.

Rarest known models: "Apollo", Enchantress Glitterlite, Child's Nite Lite, Imperial, musical model, Empress, Princess, Royal (wood cap), Executive, Windsor, Enchantress "Elegant" with original mist colors, and anything in color no. 05 "Champagne Mist". The Continental IS rare, but too many have turned up for it to be in the ultra-rare.

Rarest absolute, never been seen yet: Windsor Glitterlite, Regency (either style of metal cap), Meditation Series/Prayer Lites, white-base Imperial (if it even exists), early style Continental/Savoy base designs (finned base with red, green or yellow glass and textured frosted glass "pineapple" base), 1965 Century with switch on base, late-60s Century colors no. 101 (red lava/fluorescent green liquid) and 104 (yellow lava/blue-green liquid).

Whenever I can get the Timeline replaced with the new version (anyone want to host it?) I really should add a rarity rating list, though it'll be opinion only.

Actually the prayer lites exist in real life. I have two pictures. I don't know where the second one is from, but the first one was from an auction last December which is still showing as of today. You can save the rest of the pictures before the auction disappears.

I'd pray to that lamp...for a matching pair of lava or glitter sconces, among countless other things. That's not asking for too much, right? Or perhaps an Aladdin's lava lamp would be more appropriate...hhmmm...
