Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I thought it might be fun to tell about any lucky finds.

Here's mine, It was'nt exactly a find though.

A close friend works in a hospice charity shop, a lava lamp was donated but they're not licenced to sell electrical goods and it was going in the trash. She knew of my 'habit' and rescued it for me. It was a cloudy grimy old yellow Hunter. I cleaned it up and replaced the fluid with distilled water, did a bit of tweaking with salt and kids bubble liquid and got it flowing pretty well (as well as Hunters flow anyway).

Shame it was'nt a Crestworth Rocket !

So, thats my jolly tale, whats yours ?

I found a blue anodised telstar at a bootsale once...5 euros

found a buy it now lunar base and cap on ebay once...80 euros

found a store with some series one fluidiums and got a boxed new opal for 70 euros, sold it one ebay for 250

also a bootsale find - a never used boxed and sealed green blue jet for 3 euros and the list goes on...but also I paid way over the top for some items like a re anodised (found out later) red sputnik for 150 pound and many things I dont remember, but I know I was mad sometimes about 2 years ago.

I was scanning ebay at one time and scored an aladdin for only $25 bin
Hey Marcel, I once saw a BIN red astro flock, boxed and new for 40 pound and when I clicked on buy (the second I saw it) it was already gone...will never forget that too
I thought I did well on a BIN red Telstar boxed free p&p £20. I was only surfing for a base and cap !

Got a free Astro baby and telstar and an extra bottle. One bottle was cloudy but two were fine.

I think the Astro baby or Mini Astro as I remember them was Crestworths master stroke. Much more affordable, very elegant, and they warm up quicker than the Astrolamps. great for a quick fix if you know what I mean !

Bargain time for me again:) Found 2 Faze 3 which were on display in a waterbed store and I got both with working remotes and instruction for 130 Euros... ok, one halogen "bulb" is blown, but who care for that price...YAYYY
