Darkstar Lamp for Sale.

Hello folks - i am selling my lavaworld darkstar lamp, i just really don't use it very much.
It is basically a lamp that projects a starbust rainbow of colours.
I have the box, the original warranty slip, original packaging, instructions and will be posted with care. The lamp is in great condition, no marks or damage and works fine. I also have a screw and raw plug that came with it - i think that is for wall mounting as it says you can put it on the wall,

Lavaworld didn't put out many of these: take a look at the photo gallery to see more pictures of the lamp.
I am not sure what to charge, if anyone knows their value please let me know. I am in the uk so you'd need a stepdown transformer. I'd like to sell it for £40 to £50, but i don't know if that is too much.

peace,

ant.

You should stick it on ebay Ant, it would be interesting to see how much interest it would attract. I think these are pretty rare in the UK?

Best regards

There were two on the USA Ebay last year one black that i got and one in white that went for around
$40.00 dollars with box they are so cool to have. Not many come on Ebay anymore and with box.

I, too, have one of these. Here's the lowdown:

The base has a circular mirror, with an off-center hole containing a light and a convex lens. Into a hole in the center of the mirror screws a telescoping stem, ending in a rounded plastic cap. Beneath the cap, a reversible, printed disk acts as a reflection/diffraction medium for the light. The cap revolves slowly.

The disk can be reversed easily: pull out the plastic grommet holding it in place, slide the disk (which has a slit in it on one side) off the shaft, flip it, and put it back in place. The mottled side projects the sunburst you see pictured above and on the box, whereas the smooth side produces a starburst with eight long, narrow rainbow "points".

You can use this lamp in three ways:
- Hung on the wall, with the cap extended, it will project around itself on the wall.
- On a table, with the cap extended, it will project around itself on the table.
- On a table, with the cap extended only part-way, it will bounce the light back off the base mirror and project up onto the ceiling.
The rainbow pattern rotates slowly, and the sunburst side changes subtly as it turns.

This is an uncommon lamp - I might even call it rare - and undoubtedly one of, if not THE, best non-liquid items produced by Lava in the modern era. I love mine and use it regularly. Up to you what you want to charge, Ant, but these sold new for around $40 US. And I second Jerome's suggestion - put it on eBay. If you're willing to ship to the US, the US eBay might get it more bids.
