Prices for clear Midnights on ebay have zoomed in the last 2 months

I started shopping ebay for 32z clear midnights in February. I'm making The Wall o Moving Color. Black base clear fluid lavas on black custom bookcases.

I have 22 clear midnights. 2 are still hazy and 1 is a crap china globe. I need 30 perfect midnight clears to complete my wall. (I also have other lamps.)

I was routinely buying midnight clear greens, yellows, purples, reds for under $10 plus shipping until about 8 weeks ago.
These same lamps are now going for $50 or more. With each auction round the prices are getting higher and higher. Reds went thru the roof first, then yellows, now even the green and purples are often bringing more than $50.

Bodhan, The Lava Master, has told us buying lamps to be shipped in the hot months can cause the globes to become cloudy due to sitting in hot trucks and shipping warehouses. So I will not be buying when the heat months happen regardless of price.

If prices continue to rise I may rethink the Wall o and start selling some duplicate lamps in the fall if I can more than double my short term investment including ship costs paid and it looks like that may happen.

Yes. It is getting very expensive. If your LUCKY you can get a LL for about 35 shipped. If your lucky. They are now running 45-50 depending on how high they go and shipping. Shipping seems to be 12 bux across the board. Some are lower, some are a bit higher.

I have bought 3 LL on eBay and honestly, I don't think I will be buying anymore. I am not impressed with the quality thus far and I will probably hold out for people here that might sell their dupes or their collection period. Getting answers from people on eBay is getting harder as well.

I also don't appreciate receiving items in and they smell like smoke. It's disgusting.

In the summer months lava shipped in delivery trucks get hot and cloudy the wax gets soft and as they
are shaken they become cloudy. I see many clear midnights going up . China lava sales are getting low
and it seems more people are now seeing USA lamps going up .As more collectors come into the lava
market the price will go up. Also remember if you sell a Classic duplicate color and the one you have
starts to give you a problem or falls and breaks it might cost you more to replace it at the time. I always
have a second on the Classic colors like Clear red-green-yellow-orange-purple-blue and black.

I'm not going to sell my precious lamps. I was just in a grumpy mood this morning as I'm having to re-adjust how I buy to get what I want. Ha! What I'm doing now is buying the real cheap but clear blue/whites for the base/cap then watching auctions on 32z bottles I need in silver bases, (taking care to get the American made). The same bottles in silver bases are generally cheaper than with the midnight base these days. I have no doubt they will soon rise in price too.

I'm not the only one that thinks the clear midnights are super decorating items!

Hold on to the USA globe there value next year will be higher. I still buy LW lamps to refill with
and to change wax color around they are a fun lamp to play with and if i goof it only costs
$20 bucks.
