I don't think that would work and I'd be weary about wasting good wax. I do know that if you've purchased a gookit before, you can use the color dye packs they supplied instead. And I'm willing to bet that sharpie marker ink (not just the metallic ones) will work too.

Just don't go there - there are a lot of other solvents in spray paint which are most likely to degrade the wax and change it so it would probably not end up flowing or going wrong.

If you want to colour wax the best option would be to just buy some goo kit dyes and add some of this to the wax - goo kit wax or not.

Sharpie markers, that's the way to go.

Okay i will stick to the sharpies you mentioned earlier Dr. WHAT .. All i have to do is wait/find a listing on ebay with enough markers..

well if your planning to do metallic wax, then use sharpies, but if your just changing colors of wax then I would do the gookit dye packs waaayyy cheaper on the wallet.

You can also just buy candle wax dye from a local craft store.

I know this is going to lower my "Man Card" by about 50%, but I was thinking about buying (12) of the 8 pack of Sharpie pastels. I think some pastel goo would look pretty cool.

I had a notion of doing just that but with metalic acrylic paint, then it dawned on me, paint is meant to cure and harden and all heat and air pocket on top of the lamp NO WAY. I would end up with a lamp completely covered in paint, never mind the ooze Nice to see I'm not alone in trying different ideas, personally trying it on clear soft drink bottle would garantee me failure or success. The reason for plastic, I'd hate to see a potential lava globe go bad, so plastic over glass for me.
