Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Found oozinggoo.com when I was looking for ways to repair the Grande I picked up at CostCo a few years ago.  It's one of the Chinese made ones that has gone extremely cloudy and ceased to flow (going to try replacing the fluid one of these weekends).

It was here that I found out about really big Lava lamps.  I was bowled over by videos of the  Colossus lamps and really want to see if I could get one, I couldn't find them available anywhere so I wrote LavaLite.  I wanted to let this group know what I got this from Lava Lite today:

We have a special promo on the Colossus for serious buyers.   This will be the last time the Colossus will be seen.

Please see attached promo sheet with pricing included.

If you are interested please contact on my direct line at 630-496-6663.

Best regards,

Sadly these prices are outside of my discretionary funds, even though they include shipping.  I post it in hopes that someone here may be interested.

Yeah and i got the number from LL

Can you confirm that there are only silver bases left? What about the colors?

Metallica man where are you getting this information because it is not accurate. There are more than 15 silver lamps left. Also another thing I have been meaning to correct, these lamps were not refilled recently. They were refilled 4-5 years ago, but they are being checked before they get sent out.

I also found out they were made in 2006. Susan was wrong about them being made in the USA, and she corrected herself on the phone. The only reason I care was for the clarity issues. After seeing these pics, I am not concerned anymore. I doubt I will get mine in a week, I expect probably 2 weeks due to the wicked bahd stawm we had in Bawston Massachusetts.

I understand that freight is different, but I'm still upset. They should have more than one, or have better maintenance and inspection.
But I have plenty of people prepared to help me. Not sure. Good luck to those trying to get theirs delivered with the superstorm, at least I don't have to encounter that as well.

I asked the CEO of Lava Lite directly when I made the post. I think that trumps any sources you may have.
Oh and this.

Initially. Unless you witnessed it personally or you can show me other info from someone inside LL who is not in cust service. Because I have yet to see a LL out of china anywhere near as clear as what I am seeing in these pics. I am sticking with what I learned when making the purchase. Sorry.

OK, now I'm hoping to God that my granite box was actually opened and checked. If I receive a mislabeled box with something other than a black granite base I'm gonna be super pissed.... *fingers crossed*

Man...I meant to say "I THINK my marble base was set aside for shipping before that discovery was made." All I know is that I bought mine before that email went out.

But that is the only way I'll get a granite base...if it's incorrectly marked by the manufacturer, and they didn't check mine. Like I said, marble is the one I wanted more anyway, to begin with. I either wanted a clear/red on granite, or a blue/yellow on marble. I'll most likely be getting the blue/yellow on marble. :) ...A blue/yellow on SOMEthing, anyway. LOL!

The good thing about the truth is that it stays true regardless of what you believe. I think the person who is in charge of what gets made where knows where the lamps are made.

Good forward his email then. Otherwise i am sticking with customer service. The front line always knows what is really going on.

I did not call anyone a liar. I think you were misinformed. Right now Lava Lite does not even have the equipment to refill any lamps in the USA. If you wish to continue to debate with me over this you can private message me, otherwise any posts over the issue will be deleted.

So basically you think that someone in customer service js a liar or me and others are too. I am sorry but i am not a liar. Trump that!

Yes - let's get this thread back on track!!!

Does anyone have any info on the bulbs used now they are 250 watt infra red heat lamps I just wonder the long term effect on the lava will it fade it over time or can it burn the lava I know it has the dimmer but it is still infra red heat. The originals were 200 watt flood or spot lamps which do not run in the infra red spectrum.

Anyone got a clear/black? I would love to see pics of it flowing!! Hopefully mine ships monday man I can't wait to get it!!!

I ordered a clear/black. It ships out on Monday. I believe Jethro got one as well. Anxious to see it in action. :)
