Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

THANKS, OOZING GOO FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND INTEREST OVER THE YEARS!

Mandatory post update is MANDATORY.

In addition to the modded lamps that I have been selling, I will soon be offering slow glitter in LOOSE form (not contained in one of my lamps)! A lot of you have been asking for a long time now. The glitter contained in that liquid can be ANY shape you choose, and many colors, including prismatic!

But for right now, you can design your perfect lamp in lava or glitter, at the following rates:

$40 per regular glitter

$45 for replacement color glitter

$50 for lava

$55 for Custom cut glitter in any shape

Post here or in a PM (you'll need to send me a friend invite first) with your color choices. Please also state whether you want a lava lamp or a glitter lamp. I also now offer replacement glitter in 14 colors! There is an additional charge of $5 per lamp for that, but the custom color combinations are almost limitless.

ALSO...I am finally taking orders for custom cut glitter! I can also do cut glitter in virtually ANY SHAPE, so let me know if you want something special! Higher rates apply if you need me to render your design from scratch, but not by much.

- I will make a mockup of the lamp that you requested if you would like, so that you can see it. Then, we'll both be sure we're on the same page, as far as what you want.

- This will be on a first-come, first-served basis, but orders requiring anodizing will have to be skipped temporarily. I hope to be able to mod several lamps in a day, so don't despair too much if you are down pretty far on the list!

- I have a set list of paint colors, but if you really want a color that is not listed, just tell me what color you want, whether you want matte, gloss, satin, metallic, satin, or fleckstone paint...I'll see if I can find it. I know that matte and metallic colors are harder to find in variety though, so be aware of that. I can also seal your glossy lamp with a matte sealer, if you like.

- Once you have made your final decisions, you can send payments to my paypal address. I will then begin work immediately on your order,

Please note - I STILL am not currently equipped to handle anodizing...only unpainted silver bases, and painted ones until then. If you want metallic blue, red, grey, gold, silver, bronze, amber, or black, and do not want to wait, I have metallic paint in those colors. Just state your desires in your post. :)

This order is a statement that you intend to buy, but I'm not a nazi. I understand that life sometimes throws curve balls at us all. Only, if you have to cancel, please do it as soon as you can, to decrease the chances that I've made your order already!

I do not think that having a metallic blue with a metallic grey would detract from either! I think they would actually enhance each other well, and not clash.

And I can do one more rainbow glitter, but after that I'm going to have to wait until I get some more red. I have to order these glitters from China, in sets which not only don't look like the picture, but are different every time, and asking for specific colors can be a problem when you figure in the language barrier. I have asked for "red" and gotten "pink" twice now from 2 different places, for instance. It has taken me a long time to amass all those colors that you see, and now I need more red!

10-4, Loren.   Put me down for a Rainbow glitter in the dark blue metallic base/cap!   Just PM me the total cost and I'll send it on to you now!!   Can't wait!!!   Thank you, buddy!

P. S.  I wasn't afraid the colors of the bases of the gray and blue lamps would clash.  I was afraid they would look too much "alike" in color. LOL

Ok!

And sure! I knew, I was just trying to say that, not only would they not clash, but they would enhance each other. Neutral colors can really make non-neutral colors jump. :)

But I wasn't saying it very well. :p

No worries, Loren!!!  You know how we all play musical bases and globes anyways, so it might end up in another color base I have that you've made.  But the Rainbow will look great in any color.  I also have that blue glitter that would look really nice in the new metallic dark blue base too.  Can't wait to see it!  Thank you!

P.S.  The deal is DONE, my friend!  Check your Paypal......

Thanks Libby! I have started on the lamp, and hope to get it in the mail by Fri/Sat. :)

And I totally do that too. I don't think there's any globe/base combo that I haven't tried yet! I've always done that with my midnights/elec-tricks, also. :p

LOL, Loren!   It's untelling what base you'd see my globes on at any given time.  I change them around as the mood strikes me.   I'm sure we all do that.  ;-P

WOW, you're a fast worker!  I'll post pics when that beauty arrives!  ;-))

HUGE update in the first post of this thread.

...OMG...what have I done?? lol!

I can now cut this glitter film into any shape.

Anything.

If you want it, I can probably cut it out of glitter for you.

In addition, the price is going to go down from the projected $75, to more like $55-$60. It's still a lot of work to make the image, turn it into the right kind of file, import it, line up the cutter, cut the designs out, and pull each one off of the sticky mat that the craft cutter uses one by one. To make one custom lamp like this last night took me about 4 hours from start to finish, so these custom glitters will still be more than other options, but not as much more, which I am glad to announce!

I'm just going to leave that pattern list up as a guide, because I can do ALL of those now, but I'll change the first post of this thread to reflect the new prices, and remind people that I can actually do any shape. :)

Just a quick heads up, I have been doing some experimenting with my craft cutter, trying to push it to the limit. I have found that, yes it has a limit, but it's well within my needs! I'm seriously thrilled right now. :)

I can now make MM's Metallica M, for instance, or just about anything else, in just about any size!

Right now I'm working on tinsel glitter...

I updated the first post in this thread, to reflect the new prices of everything!

And here they are again:

$40 per regular glitter

$45 for replacement color glitter

$50 for lava

$55 for Custom cut glitter in any shape

Thanks, and hopefully someone will send me to my workshop soon! :D

A quick update...

I am now all stocked up on all colors of hexagonal glitter!

Also, I had fallen out of contact with my supplier of glitter film, but they finally wrote me back! I didn't realize that the Fall festivals over there were like a week long, and there were 3 of them, and a maternity leave was thrown in there...yeah. But now she's BACK, and I'm planning my order of glitter film in 16 colors!

...that is...if I can swing it. :-/

If not, there are other wholesale distributors of this stuff...

Unless some miracle happens, it looks like I'm going to be stuck buying the following lot of glitter films: Silver, dark pink, pale pink, purple, lime green. :-/

At a cost of almost $200, for 1.5 kg of glitter film in those 5 colors. I'm basically stuck with whatever scraps they have laying around, because I can't afford an order which actually produces more film...the MOQ on that is like 2 tons. Every time I find a distributor of the right kind of material, they wind up trying to push something else on me. Over and over again.

Plus...I haven't had a whole lot of orders for custom cut glitters yet. in fact I've had one. :p This is a little less than I was hoping for, but I know that these things are cyclical. I guess my point is, is it even worth getting these new colors of glitter film? I only have about 40 lamps left to sell, and I don't know if I can get any more. Naturally I would love to be able to get a roll of 16 different colors, but the chances of that are looking remote, at best. And even if I did, I would be left with yards and yards of glitter film that I suddenly had no use for, as soon as my lamps ran out.

Are people still interested in placing an order for a cut glitter lamp? I don't need a commitment to buy or anything, I'm just trying to gauge whether or not this would actually be worthwhile for me to do. If you are thinking about maybe ordering something one day please let me know!
