not sure if I'm getting any of them except for a grande :) So maybe someone else can give it a whirl

I didn't even notice the plastic bottom missing from the Century......that's a turn off for me too, but I already bought one.  I guess we'll see what it looks like when it arrives.

What bothers me though is they do not have a plastic bottom plate. That is a big turn off for me when it comes to these lamps.

That choice was easy for me, I want the copper base and I've been looking for yellow red lately so I got it.

I WISH I could afford a neon Grande !!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT !!! *pout*

My two cents: Love these. Glad to see them back in some form. I really hope the pinholes on the Grandes are as slightly-random as they appear in the illustrations!

It sounds as though production won't be moving back to the USA at all? Or is it just that these are the last China products? I, too, would love to see a Consort. I'd even send them an empty one to use as a model!

i still dont get why there is a dimmer on these?

40watt bulb barely gets the 52oz neon series going. i had to amp mine up to a 60watt clear and then add a dimmer to that (in essence creating what would be the equivelant of a 50watt) to get any sort of flow that wasnt just a motionless bubble at the bottom. why would you want to dim down 40watt to even less??

I'm thinking they maybe changed the formula on these so that they're way more active and added the dimmer to control the flow? A USA 52 overheats on 40w after about 6-7 hours depending on room temp, so if it's more like the old USA formula I can see why a dimmer could be needed.

We'll see, I hope they ship well.  As nice as they are, I still didn't get on of the 52oz b/c I know I can scrounge a probably really nice one on e-bay.  But the grande's and a red wizard....well I couldn't resist.  Fingers crossed

Regardless of why they added the dimmers, I am very pleased to see them built in like this.  I've purchased enough plug-in dimmers for my older lamps to thrill Amazon.   Inline will be very handy.   Jamie, all my 52 oz. lamps run on 60 watt bulbs, some have have dimmers and some don't.   The 40 watt bulbs have never gotten my larger lamps to flow at all.

I got a response from Dave Seguin. These lamps are a one off. When they are gone, they are gone for good. This is where we put our money where our mouths are. If they sell very quickly a new round of Heritage lamps will come out, but they will be of styles and colors. This looks to be Lava Lite dipping its toes in the premium lava lamp market. So if these lamps are as good as they should be everyone needs to buy some lamps, otherwise this will be the beginning and end of the Heritage line.

Last month i bought a blue red 52 oz and it heats up and flows like a charm! IM sorry to hear that your globe wont heat up on a 40 watt

Interesting. I have to admit, most of the color combos didn't appeal to me, but if the two I ordered are good, I'll pick up the other Grange (neon green) and maybe the Century with the copper base.

I debated on copper based century, but was too enamored with the thought of neon grandes.  Does anyone know what size this production run was to begin with?  I know people smarter than me are waiting on quality reports from those of us that ordered first.

The smaller lamps are more expensive but the grande's aren't, so I'm interested to see if that affects quality at all.
