So it seems that the v2s are the better deal?

Not necessarily, Doug, since they left out the smaller coil on the V2's.   If you buy one now you don't have a choice though.  The V1's are sold, unless someone who already has one will sell it to you.   I love my V1's.   The flow is superior on both of them, and they have two coils already.   They're just very temp sensitive in a room less than 70 in my case.

So basically it's just luck of the draw.

You got it, just hit and miss.

That Christmas tree grande is beautiful! I have never seen a lamp flow like that. Did you try anything with the v2 grandes, or are you trying to resolve the bad flowing globes through LL? I will be opening mine if I don't hear back from LL. I can't get a response from them. I tried emailing several times, and called once.

I have both the green and pink V1s.  I added socket extenders to them to bring the bulbs right up to the globe so they'd heat up faster.  I love them both, and I think they are the best lamps that LL has produced since the 1990s.

I do feel lucky, though!

Whelp...the pink one ran just like the green one...spectacularly...then crapped out, also just like the green one. :(

This time, I'm going to ask for a replacement. The globes going out with only one coil are broken, as far as I'm concerned.

A) I don't want to open this globe.

B) I shouldn't have to.

C) I don't have another spare 52oz coil just laying around.

I'm calling lavalite in just a few minutes...

This is so bad.  I've not had a single problem with either of my V1's but now I'm going to check the coils more closely.

Sorry you are seeing this kind of thing Jeff.

The flecks of crap seem to be multiplying :(

I haven't had flow problems with my V1 either, but my V2 did the same peashooter flow, I added a coil and now it flows, I still wish the v2 had the same amount of wax as the first ones..

I keep trying with my neon V2's every day !!! I was told run them for 4 days just simmering them at night , I have done this 4 times now and still the same thing . These globes just NEVER quite flow . I shouldn't have to muck around with them , and definitely shouldn't have to open them up and put in another coil ( which i don't have ) .

I really don't know what they would replace them with anyway , they are obviously out of the V1's and some of the green V1's have 'junk' in them from what  people are saying . If there is a V3 version i wonder what it would be. I really wish i would have gotten ahold of the V1's that sounds like for the most part it was an easy fix .

I don't think the junk is version-specific. The brown stuff is probably just bits of burnt wax, I've seen this on a lot of new and older china lamps and even some 90s USA lamps. It only makes sense that were seeing it on the V1s first since those have been around for longer and have more run time on the wax. I haven't checked my v2 for it yet but if it's happening on our v1s it will most likely start to form on the v2s as well =/

I also think they should've stuck to the V1, mine is completely original and flows amazing. The only downside of that lamp is the brown stuff which doesn't show on the flow but I can only assume that the v2 will get it the more it runs...

I keep looking for the brown stuff and none so far . that doesnt mean it wont happen though .
